Hey robypal, I got mine from ebay, it seems they are appearing again as people are getting rid of them for RB4. Not cheap though it was $110 dollars buy it now, and $25 postage. So around about £100 in total for me, I have been after these kits for ages but whenever I had seen them appear they were always around the $130+ mark, which is slightly too much when you consider posting to the UK.
Search rock band stage kit on ebay and see what comes up, this is what I purchased: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221879861835?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Quick search found this:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xbox-360-Rock-Band-1-2-Stage-Kit-Fog-Machine-Strobe-Lights-LED-Array-/221887264300?hash=item33a982f62c
October 3, 2015 at 10:23 am #456596Its arrived! Looks like I need a heavy duty step down converter and not just an adapter from reading other forums?? Anyone know much about this type of stuff? Which US to UK adapter would work, I have seen people suggesting some 1000v ones surely that too much and too expensive for what I need?
October 3, 2015 at 4:48 pm #456631Hi guys,
I am thinking of buying a stage kit, I am having to import it from America and due to the additional cost I want to make sure I am not running in to any additional problems.
Currently I am using this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Global-Gizmos-Disco-Light-Reactive/dp/B000KY5F24/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1443094340&sr=8-18&keywords=disco+light and it really adds to the immersion when at parties.
Would you recommend I just stay with this? One problem i have with this is when we have a party the volume of the music, the singer, the drums makes the sound sensitive lights basically turn it in to a strobe.
A couple questions/concerns that I hope you can answer:
This is hard to explain but does the stage kit light effects come from the signal from the game track being played and not from the actual sound being generated from my speakers? If this is the case I presume the above issue will be avoided?
Will I run in to problems using RB3 or more to the point using customs?
As I still have quite a few usbs ports being used as I have quite a few wired instruments, will the stage kit work from a usb extender I am currently using?
I regularly play with guitar, bass, drums and singer, with this set up will I have to use all instrument mode for the stage kit to work?
If yes to above, does all instrument mode only have to used when all 4 players are logged in?
Is the stage kit worth it?
I may have more questions, but I would really appreciate your thoughts especially if you have a stage kit.
I think you should hold off on the RB stage kit, as it is way overpriced now and doesn’t really pack much of a punch. I’ve purchased many different alternatives and found that my Hexolight 6000 x 2, a decent fogger with a remote, a laser light(cheap $15 ebay) next to the fogger, and one of these (less than $10) will more than emulate the RB stage kit…it will blow it away at a much cheaper rate. I set up the 2 Hexolights in vertical towers next to the TV and front speakers, set them to pick up the beat, place the fogger out of the way and have the lasers placed high angled down to catch the fog(a cool effect), and move dome light to the center of the room to project on the ceiling…oh…and I have one of these on my front wall(also sound synced). All items totaled are cheaper than the kit, try them out, you won’t be disappointed.
