So i made a chart of drums for a song that does not have much in it.
It has some stuff like claps and the shaking thing ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> but i don’t want to overchart and chart them.
So i’m wondering how to work out drums for the song?
16ths on hi hat, the clapping to red. There is nothing in this song on drums except for those hi hat hits and the clapping, so it makes sense in this case to give the player something to do with the electronic clapping (which in a live context would be pad-activated anyway).
So you mean the shaking thing to be on the hi-hat?

The shaking thing is a shaking thing only in the first measures, when the melody starts you can hear that the downbeats on the 1/8ths are more pronounced and more pingy (either it’s the same instrument mixed/played differently or it’s a different instrument). Point is, it can definitely pass for a hi hat (not that it is, but in the game it can work as a Yc). Since you can hear plenty of upbeats, I would do 1/16ths, as I said before.

Actually, I’d say this is 1/8th triplets, seeing how the tempo map seems to be done in 4/4 (if it were done differently, in 3/4 and a different tempo assigned, then 16ths or 8ths would make sense).

Yeah time sig is definitely 3/4, and I’d say that it would be probably better to redo the tempo mapping so the drums have a regular rythm.

I definitely agree, though I also know that it’s a real pain to change the tempo map for a song after having things authored for it. Still, it’d be for the best if it was changed to 3/4
Yeah, I didn’t focus a lot on the grid, excellent points.
