Anyone had an issue of songs that stopped working? I’ve got a few songs that had been working at one point, even had scores associated with them and then all of a sudden one day they just stopped working. Give me the message that it’s skipping the song. All of them are Harmonix releases, though I *ahem* “aquired” them outside of the xbox marketplace. I’ve *ahem* “re-aquired” the songs, but to no avail, they still won’t work.

My guess is that I’ve got to delete the song cache? I’m hesitant to do that since I spent (probably way too much time) a lot of time getting the harmonies project working and would hate to go through that process again. So I was seeing if there was a different solution other than deleting the song cache.

If there isn’t, then I’ll just do without the harmonies and move on.

This is a quote from a non-existent but likely-to-be-created tutorial on the matter:

When you learn to live without an attachment to the song cache and transcend your need for song scores, only then, can you live in a state of pure TU4 and enjoy customs without any problems.

Heh, I like that quote. Despite the fact that my wife and I like to sing harmonies and actually see the harmony parts, I would like to be able to play the songs that aren’t currently working.

I’ll get rid of the cache and see if that works. Thanks for the words of wisdom. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Questionable implication that your songs were acquired through illicit means and not purchased from Harmonix aside, if you do have problems getting into a good ‘routine’ with RB:HP installs, you can always e-mail me and we can try to troubleshoot to see where in the process you may be hitting hurdles and try to get it down to a science.

Believe me, Harmonix has gotten more than enough of my money from Rock Band 1-3, AC/DC and Beatles, plus all the instruments, mics and about 50 DLC purchases.

But, back on topic, it wasn’t the song cache, it was the Title Update Progression Cache (I think I got that right) that needed to be deleted.
