I’m trying to play a few dragonforce songs but when i go to play it says “song cannot be played, skipping song” and in the menu the song has no album art and no preview, i don’t know if it’s a bad custom or my game is messed up, it’s happen with a few others too. the 2 songs are Black Winter Night and Disciples of Babylon, i don’t know how to make customs so i don’t know how to troubleshoot this, any info would be greatly appreciated

What console?
That error message can be caused by missing or invalid midi file. On PS3 it could also be the result of incorrect midi file encryption.
Are you able to hear the audio preview of those songs in the main menu?

Sorry for the late response, tropical storm knocked out my power for 5 days, I am on X360, and no i can’t hear any audio when i scroll to it in the menu

Then it means both the midi file and the audio file cannot be found. I think the reason could be that the file or folder name in the DTA file doesn’t match the actual name. It might have been manually changed by the author. Try to open the DTA file and take a look at the path and filename under the “song” section, then open the CON in C3 Tools and see if the files included have the same name.

Not to argue with you shroud, but it’s just that either the SongID has changed without a songcache refresh, or a conflict of songIDs/short names. Happens all the time on a JTAG box in particular. All you have to do is delete the songcache and let it rebuild.
I can duplicate the issue anytime (unfortunately I learned the hard way )

Why would I argue? ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
It was just my own guess, because the symptoms (no audio preview, skipping song) are the same that happened to me when I accidentally changed the folder name without changing it in DTA also. But I am on PS3 so I could not have experienced the cache problem. If that solves his problem, the better!
