I like that it shows how close you are to gold stars
Edit: OK, I’m a roll for looking like a moron this week, I just realized there is now an RB4 forum for this. Oops.
Edit2: Thanks for moving!
October 3, 2015 at 10:58 pm #456652I really, really like how RB4 looks…damn you uni for holding my pay hostage!

I feel like it’s trying way too hard to be complex and shiny and just looks bad as the result
October 4, 2015 at 5:08 am #456667AnonymousCome on, here I try to express what I think about this new game in the franchise and hope that the translator translate in a way. Background graphics have not changed much compared to Rock Band 3, realize that the movement of the characters is so similiar much. What I liked in this game so far have been the skin of the notes, there where the score shows, stars, etc … in short: only the details of the gameplay, that satisfaction of having you there on stage is absent due to the little chart the game is offering. Since that’s the way they could at least release this title for the Wii U, even by that since the beginning of Rock Band has released them for the Nintendo platform and only then they left the islands of the outside company. I hope the DLCs are good because so will prolong the life of the game, I still personally finding the RB3 best to offer more features and etc. that’s it.

agreed. the new character models look great (minus the recycled animation), but everything else just seems overdone to me.
also Caught Up In You is devil tier on guitar? i thought we were trying to emulate RB2 here, not RB3
October 5, 2015 at 12:51 pm #456808Hmm that first video…
The characters look fine to me. The chart looks good. I was worried the HOPOs would be hard to distinguish, but it seems ok.
That lipsynch, though. That looks terrible. My customs that I do barely adequate dryvox for myself have better lipsynch than that. I mean, the singer is basically just moving his mouth up and down. He looks like a frog.
Oh and is it just me or does the solo percentage indicator cover part of the chart? That is gonna be slightly annoying.

Glad somebody else noticed that. Are they not hand-tuning lipsynch anymore on the new stuff? Or does old DLC look similarly bad?
October 5, 2015 at 6:44 pm #456873Lipsync animations are serious stuff, maybe they saved some money this time around.

Well…I mean … the autogen lipsynch is arguably better than that first video. I don’t want to come off as overly harsh but … I’m getting an overall vibe of lack of effort from HMX on this release. Saving money is one thing, but even a sock puppet can do more than move its mouth up and down.
A lot of little things, that are probably more important to me than to most other people, are really making me regret not canceling my preorder when I considered it last night.
Oh well. Maybe the DLC will be good at least. And I always have RB3 to fall back on.
October 5, 2015 at 11:09 pm #456906I was looking at some Guitar charts and it doesn’t seem like BNS is on, I know there’s a patch in December that will add variable speeds, but is just the default speed available at the start? I am pretty terrible without BNS
October 6, 2015 at 12:28 am #456909BNS is in the game at the start. He just must have not switched it on.

As the owner of a studio who worked with lips animations software I have to reiterate: lips animations are serious business. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
Also, do you know how we chatted in private about how people not inside C3 can’t imagine the amount of work there is behind a song we release? Well, I’m confident people would be surprised by how Harmonix currently has to make do with the resources they have. That doesn’t mean people have to like or buy the game, but it explains why some things were cut or postponed. Personally I’m even surprised they met the street date, my guess is they must have been pretty happy they could deliver. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>

Oh that’s good, I was about to regret my pre-order because I go from good to terrible without BNS
October 6, 2015 at 2:47 pm #456974Here’s some older songs played with freestyle solos.
