May 12, 2015 at 6:49 am #445230Sideshow, when you said you could not do a video for the multitracked song.
You could use con tools and use the program that turns the audio into just 1 track for videos.

May 12, 2015 at 2:20 pm #445269Before I do more Dream Theater, I’m finishing up something that I planned to do earlier…..
The Protomen – Act II: The Father Of Death (full album)
* This is a (loosely) Megaman-themed concept album that has pretty active Keys and Vocal parts all around. And there are a few songs with fun (but somewhat easy) guitar parts. I’m doing this album mostly because my brother is a fan of this band.
Yes, The State Vs Thomas Light/Give Us The Rope will be my first devil-tiered song on Vocals. Breaking Out (at a tier 5) is no joke on vocals, either. And there are quite a few tier 4’s. Guitar players who just want fun songs will like playing tracks 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Drummers will enjoy playing The Fall (most of the song is essentially an unmarked [for OD reasons] drum solo) while Keyboardists will enjoy the album (with tracks 4, 5, 9 [although this will rightly be a devil tier], and 10 being highlights).
So yeah, some may see this as a stopgap before more DT, but it was something that I was planning on charting before I did the current batch of DT.

May 12, 2015 at 8:12 pm #445285I was playing Breaking All Illusions when I noticed something. Around 4:08 in the song, and the video, there are clearly some synth strings going on but there aren’t any notes for keys, then shortly after there’s some organ sounds that aren’t charted either.
Oh, and in Count of Tuscany, there’s one part where the guitar stem disappears completely, and all you hear is the keyboard, but the guitarist is still playing. Not sure if that’s intentional or a mistake.

Not sure if that’s intentional or a mistake. That is actually intentional. Why? Because in that part, it’s actually a Guitar/Keyboard unison solo. But for whatever reason, the person compiling the multitrack only put it on the Keyboard stem.

A lot of piano is audible during parts with no keys notes, for example right when the vocals starts. But I assume it’s because the intended chart is synth, because then the synth comes soon and that’s charted.
May 12, 2015 at 11:32 pm #445295Video Preparer. It’s what I used for every single C3 video I made before lowlander took over.I never knew about that feature until mentioned. I’ll give it try for future multitrack customs.

If you duplicate the stem, adjust volumes for both stems for that part so that it’s not higher than the single part’s and render, you have guitar playing and it cuts out correctly. For me not having an instrument in game, in any section, when it’s actually in the song is a cardinal sin. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

I’ll keep that in mind any time I so multitracks from now on. It’s just the way I have the stems are Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys, Vocals, and solos (Guitar and Keyboard solos). So I have to do a bit of fiddling around so that the Keyboard solos are on the Keys audio and the Guitar solos are on the Guitar audio. This is particularly annoying in tracks that have tradeoff solos or unisons. Given that I found (and am using) multitracks from the entire Black Clouds and Silver Linings album, there is quite a bit of this in one particular track.
May 14, 2015 at 12:51 pm #445431This thread is amazing. Great job.
Reading through the 47 pages of back history…was Lindsey Buckingham’s “Holiday Road” ever modified for lower difficulties? Or was it only ever published as Expert only?

Holiday Road should be expert only. Thanks for checking out the thread.
May 16, 2015 at 9:31 pm #445697How about the rest of Led Zeppelin’s first album? Thanks to AJFOne for pointing out that these tracks existed over at FOF. These blues/classic rock tracks don’t contain harmonies or keys and I left the charts untouched as narutostarwars123456 posted them in his thread. Pro Guitar/Bass is charted for most of the songs. Enjoy a full album of Zep!

To give a schedule for whats upcoming. I plan on doing the Protomen album that Meander gave me but don’t expect it till the end of the month. Next week I’m going to be doing more RBN1.0 songs so I don’t get behind. I’ll have 1 secret song that I’ll release next weekend. Until then couch potato rockers!
May 16, 2015 at 9:41 pm #445699Sweet, thanks! But no CAT reductions?
