May 8, 2015 at 7:58 pm #444960Sideshow, thank you for getting me to like Porcupine Tree! I’m listening to Deadwing all the way thru As we speak. Expect this whole album to be REDUX’D!
Your quite welcome. I too wasn’t very familiar of their content until I started working with Meander on these customs. They are an awesome modern prog rock band. Well modern as of 2010 because the band split up since then.
Yeah, as far as I know, Steven Wilson is a producer now, he did Opeth’s “Heritage”, and thats most likely why Opeth sounds like PTree 2.0
Actually, Steven Wilson has produced every Opeth album since “Blackwater Park.” Heck, that’s Steven singing on the chorus for “Bleak.” Plus, people who are fans of both Porcupine Tree and Opeth tend to see Steven and Mikeal as a bromance (given that they’re good friends and fans of each others music). So it was probably Mikeal that went for the more progressive direction in “Heritage” and “Pale Communion” (which is a far more focused album than “Heritage” was).
Also, Steven Wilson has been doing solo albums since the end of PT. The two most recent “The Raven That Refused To Sing” (2013) and “Hand. Cannot. Erase.” (2015) are strongly reccommended.
May 8, 2015 at 9:13 pm #444968I’ve been listening to more of their stuff. In Absentia is muy bueno. Tis a shame that PT only has three albums on Spotify.

The music is defintely amazing. BTW, Meander, I hope you don’t mind, but I CAT Redux’d a old FoF of yours. I just can’t help myself now, I’m having too much fun. Lol.

I don’t mind that at all. In fact, I invite it so others can step in and complete them.
T”he Best of Times” a lot of crazy Keyboard chords in the first part of the song. In fact it reminds me of a song like “American Pie” or “Saturday Night’s Alright For Fighting.” A song loaded with crazy chords, but not difficult with solos. It was a hassle even with the multitracks. However, this will be a 5 on Keys. The only Devil on this track is on Guitar (because of one of the best guitar solos Petrucci has ever played at the end of the song, which doesn’t fade out thanks to the multitracks).
Considering doing the rest of Black Clouds and Silver Linings since I got ahold of the multitracks. I’ve already done the longest song on it (The Count of Tuscany) and one of the longer tracks.
May 9, 2015 at 11:56 pm #445037Now is “The Bigger Picture” part of the pack? Because I found a PS version of it and thought about converting it.

Whoa, I never knew that about Bleak (I looked it up, it’s true!) and that’s been one of my top 5 Opeth songs for a long time. I thought it was just Mikael being good at voices.
I knew they collaborated a lot, but that’s some good info.
tbh I prefer Opeth (at least metal opeth) to pretty much all of PT, but PT is still pretty great

May 10, 2015 at 6:15 pm #445103Arguable one of the most enjoyable bands to play in Rock Band is back at it with a huge pack of songs to increase the possibility of Carpal tunnel syndrome occurring in your wrist! 8 songs taken from 8 different albums spanning 3 decades of material. Boredom should not set in playing these complex time signature prog epics. Several of these songs were by far the most difficult songs I have compiled in terms of having to fix tempo maps and note positioning. The songs that have disco flip sections were previously setup for drums only so I had to make those Pro Drums. “In The Presence of Enemies” is the first song I have seen that has hit the Midi Event limit in Magma so reductions are probably not possible on that one. “The Count of Tuscany” features multitrack audio for all instruments! Pro Keys and Harmonies may be added in the future but for now to all other instrument players have at it!

Well shit I’m glad i have three days in a row off! CAT REDUCTIONS SOON!
May 10, 2015 at 7:02 pm #445107Awesome Dream Theater pack. We ALWAYS need more DT. I love each of these songs. I gotta say though, I imagined Change of Seasons would be impossible on vocals.

As for ITPOTE not being able to be reduced, I am thinking that the fact that it isn’t a multitrack (like Octavarium with C3) would keep the overall file size down. Even if it is a minute and a half longer. I could be wrong, though.
There is more DT coming. But there will be stuff I’ve been sitting on while I was working on DT.

Even if it is a minute and a half longer. I could be wrong, though.Unfortunately it’s the MIDI size that’s limiting you on a long song like this. File size may keep Wii users from using it, but too-large MIDIs won’t even compile.
Great stuff by the way ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
May 10, 2015 at 8:24 pm #445112Can’t wait to play them, I think c3 got me into Dream Theater with the 2 full albums and them being multitracked audio made me download them.
I better start downloading them and add the songs to my 1GB dream theater package ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
