Looking forward to the DT songs, are any of them gonna be multitrack? Any of ’em gonna have pro keys?

        Happy April Fools! But today’s release is actually no joke. To go along with the super epic hall of fame custom, Dream Theater’s “12 Step Suite”; I bring you Green Carnation “Light of Day, Day of Darkness” full album on one track with guitar/keys/drums charted. A huge tremendous help from DoNotPassGo for helping me fix some tempo map markers on this song that would of otherwise prevented me from getting this out to the community this fast. Credits for this song are as follows:

        Guitar/Keys = Parama

        Pro Drums = Meander

        Sideshow = OD/2X Bass Pedal chart polish/compiling

        DoNotPassGo = Tempo Map Fixes

        I want to mention a few aspects to this release. The keys chart is not complete but rather taken from the original Parama guitar/keys chart. Parama charted keys on the parts of the song that have no guitar. Those keys section is merely added to a keys track. The midi for this song to pass Magma is 812kb getting close to the 1mb limit. It would be possible to finish the keys chart to make all three instruments full charted for this mammoth beast. Adding bass and vocals would probably not work out.

        I polished up the 2X Bass Pedal chart only and left the single kick version untouched. This does not mean the single kick drum chart is broken but it is probably missing a few kicks, snares, flams, etc. I filled in those missing gaps on the 2X Bass Peal chart and did a few changes here and there. I really like this drum chart. The drummer uses bells, china, splashes, multiple crash cymbals that really add to the experience. Unfortunately due to RB3 only having 1 crash, 1 ride, etc. its hard to chart this song perfectly but its damn fun as is. Most of the tom fills in this song go from right to left with some toms charted on the red pad but I welcome this giving the sense that there is an extra tom on the drum kit for those sections.

        There are no practice sections in this initial release. I do have them in the midi but Magma is giving me lots of “Not Allowed” errors which I did not feel like fixing at this time.

        Finally, the preview video of this song resembles me loading the song up in game for the first time. I went back later and did more changes to the drum chart. The middle eastern “Prince of Persia” section of the song near the end really stands out to me with the amazing female vocals. The video shows that I was able to go back to the setlist at the end of the song although no notes were registered so its a big possibility the song might crash if you play this locally with a full band but I have not tested that aspect. Anyhow, enough of me blabbing. Enjoy!

          If this only had bass I’d download it instantly

          Haven’t had time to check out your new posts but I said earlier (a couple of pages back for sure) that I’d come back and give some comments on your Porcupine Tree releases, and let me say it is simply fan-tas-tic. I’m having a blast playing my new Roland drums, and discovering new music in the process. It’s a win/win/win scenario :excited:.

          The only concern I have with your customs is the fact that the songs are composed of 1 section called “Intro” which means I can’t really practice any one part. It’s a little of a pain for songs with long sections of nothing – Anesthetize/Camel/King Crimson I’m looking at you – because I get obliterated in one part but I nail it perfectly for the other 9 minutes of the song. You get my point

          It’s about the most fun I’ve had with Rock Band in years, so please keep on going, you’re doing a great job.

          If you have a paypal account for donations I’d chip in a couple of dollars, while I know the faq says not to do this, if it’s a private transaction, their message isn’t relevant uh?

            I apologize for keeping that “Intro” text event in the Events track. That sure is preventing one to even practice a song. I’ll make sure to delete that event entirely for future releases. It would be a ton of work to check each of my previously released songs, recompile, then upload them. I would be willing to fix a small batch of requested songs.

            On second thought regarding adding more instruments to “Light of Day, Day of Darkness”. If I were to export the midi from Reaper muting the single kick track for compiling the 2X version and vice versa for compiling the single kick version it would save a significant amount of space size for the midi allowing another instrument such as bass or vocals. So there is a possibility of seeing this custom get a fourth instrument in the future.

              Nice, that is a very good thing to hear

              So I just played that song and I just have to say I can’t imagine how much work it took to get something that damn long to run as great as it does. It’s all synced, all the notes are on the line, everything seems accurate, wow, great work.

              Also, let’s see if anyone can beat my X Guitar score (you probably can!) 1,971,633, gold stars, 99%, 3,570 note streak, 10,202 notes hit!

              I would have got 2 mil if I wasn’t so crap at trill lanes (damn, that song solo really got me).

              I wonder how much drugs this band was on when they recorded that middle part with all the screaming…

                Glad you enjoyed it! I left those trill lanes in because the original midi had them. I went threw looking at the whole guitar chart once and thought it was pretty damn spot on. I had to add force hopos on for some of the trills but otherwise the chart is untouched. Thanks for testing it out! There is another epic song that I am working on you can expect sometime this month that will give you a challenge on guitar.

                Sounds cool.

                I’ll throw in a guess and say X Japan – Art of Life.

                Although that’s “only” half as long as this one, it’s probably my favorite 20+ minute song. Either that or Symphony X – The Odyssey.

                  I’m hoping for Crimson by Edge of Sanity

                  I think Psy or somebody did that already

                    You guessed correctly. I know Psym released it already but I’m adding Meander’s drum chart to it. This drum chart is brutally difficult because there is lots of blast sections and the song is 40 minutes. My version will have band unison’s so higher scores can be obtained on guitar from the previously released version.

                    I tried looking for X Japan – Art of Life on FOF but the link is dead. Would be willing to convert it if the tempo map isn’t all fuckerd up.

                      I agree with you about Art Of Life by X Japan. The thing that could piss will be to chart the whole thing if there’s no link. Btw, it’s a great idea because “The Shadesterz” probably gave up on it
