Yeah. The cat’s kinda out of the bag. Missingno correctly guessed that the full-band full album charted entirely by me (except for Pro Keys and Harmonies because my software can’t chart that) was “In Absentia” by Porcupine Tree.

And I’ll leave this little nugget here……..it won’t be the only dose of Porcupine Tree that I’m giving!

Also, I was about to chart “Indiscipline” by King Crimson myself. Synching that was a pain in the opening, so I let it gather dust. The fact that there is a new chart there does me wonders. I may just chart the rest of the parts for it myself!

However, if ANYONE on the forums knows how to convert Pro Guitar/Pro Bass charts, send a helping hand over to Sideshow. Last I checked, he’s having trouble converting the Pro Guitar/Pro Bass charts (I made ones for “Blackest Eyes” and “Trains”).

i didnt know you were about to chart indiscipline, of course you can add more instruments, i dont have the rights to be the “King Crimson Only Charter” as some people think that.

    In Absentia? FULL BAND?

Someone that can do pro keys and harmonies is gonna help. I have faith.

Wow. The harmonies on that album would be killer.

Oh, if EOF allowed me to do either, I’d chart them in a heartbeat. Just thinking about people doing Heartattack In A Layby, Collapse The Light Into Earth, or several other songs on three-person harmonies gives me goosebumps.

And like I said, this is far from the only Porcupine Tree that will be converted. I REALLY fell under this band’s spell harder than anything I’ve heard since Yes or Opeth. In fact, there are THREE full albums expected to be released in full, with full-band charting (sans harmonies and Pro Keys because EOF won’t let me chart those). Here is the full slate of Porcupine Tree songs expected from me. An estimated release means that I’m still working on the charts for the pack. “Release” means that the charts are done and I’ve sent them to Sideshow for conversion into RB3.

An (X) means that that song should have a Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrade, but last I checked, Sideshow was having trouble in that area, so someone experienced in that area help him out!

Not sure if I’ll have two albums done by mid march but I’ll try. Damn 40+ hour a week job ><img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” /> Trying to do 1 song a day.

March could also mean late-March. AKA, the two albums being released on separate weeks.

Also, an update on progress with other songs:

          * Vocals are charted on everything except Time Flies and Four Chords That Made A Million.

          * Even Less and Shesmovedon have only Bass left to chart.

          * Radioactive Toy needs only Guitar left to chart.

          * Dark Matter and Russia On Ice need B/K left to chart.

          * Lazarus needs G/B charted.

          * Deadwing and The Start of Somethng Beautiful need G/B/K charted.

*Shallow and Open Car need B/K and the Pro instruments.

          * Mellotron Scratch and Glass Arm Shattering need G/B/K/D charted.

          * Four Chords That Made A Million has only drums charted now.

I was originally planning to do the full 34-minute version of The Sky Moves Sideways, but it ended up being too time-consuming for me. I only finished the Drum and Vocal charts and started working on Guitar and Keys. It won’t be in this pack, but I may finish it and release it someday on its own.

Well, I’m making further progress. I’ve finished the vocal, guitar, and drum tracks on every Porcupine Tree song that I intend to do. I’ve also done all the Pro Guitar/Pro Bass upgrades except for Open Car and Shallow. All my Porcupine Tree songs will be finished by the end of March. I can assure you that.

As of now, I’ve finished all of the Porcupine Tree songs/albums that I intend to finish. And I do not know what to work on next now? Will it be The Protomen’s “Act II: The Father Of Death,” an Opeth album, some insane Jazz Fusion, or shall I chart Bass, Vocals, and Keys on the Twelve-Step Suite?

Yeah. The problem with Opeth is that if I choose to update customs from the Still Life album, several songs suffer from the FoF problem of abrupt jumps in tempo. So I may have to do my own sync-job on several songs. Including all of the longer ones (The Moor, Serenity Painted Death, White Cluster, Godhead’s Lament, Face of Melinda).

I don’t have as much Opeth planned as I do Porcupine Tree, but it is a substantial amount.

As for The Protomen, I have had the entire album synched and charted for Drums and Vocals already.

I’ll be happy to help with Opeth “Blackwater Park”. Psym was going to convert guitar/drums for that album but he has seemed to vanish.

I have the same source that he was going to use. A user named ZSonicMaster on the FoF forums charted the entire album on Guitar/Drums ages ago. I’m putting Pro treatment for the drums (yeah, these charts were made in the RB2 era yet are synched properly).

I’d love to do Still Life, as well, but I’d have to make my own synchings of a large chunk (over half) of the album.

Yep, I have that album and those songs can crash your console because like you said they were made during the RB2 era. I am completely down to help bring proper versions of that album to RB3.

Happy Birthday To Me! Today I bring you the first of 3 albums from the English prog rock band Porcupine Tree. For the first time in RB3 you get to enjoy full band charted customs of Porcupine Tree. To start off I can’t thank Meander enough for getting this project rolling and doing most of the charting for the songs. I never knew about this band until fret charter CourtOfAPorcupine reached out to me in youtube land and provided some of his charts to me to convert. I did a brief convert of Anesthetize last year and loved the song. You will see this song return in full band glory for the next album. “In Absentia” is considered the band’s crowning achievement and marks the first album featuring Gavin Harrison who is a phenomenal drummer. Check out this video of him playing Anesthetize:

                          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_quRW8IKZ5Q

                          Them double bass accents!

If your a fan of “Tool” or “Radiohead” you may like this band. Preview videos are back so check them out. “Blackest Eyes” and “Trains” feature Pro Guitar/Bass! There are no Pro Keys are Harmonies charted at the moment but that can always change in the future. There is a tempo map problem at the beginning of “Trains” which effects guitar but after a measure or two the song plays fine. All charting credentials go to Meander except CourtofPorcupine did drums/bass for “Blackest Eyes” and “Trains”, Podruvan did all frets on “The Sound of Musak”, and Italianstal1ion (drums) for “The Creator Has a Mastertape”. I compiled all songs and added OD/BandUnisons/ and drum OD activation lanes. Hope you enjoy the album and I’ll bring “Fear of a Blank Planet” next. Rock on people and keep customs alive!

Oh wow, this is unreal work. Love In Absentia a whole bunch, thank you so so much for this! Also I wholeheartedly vote for The Protomen as the next release Meander, I was always bummed we never got them through RBN.

EDIT: Quick question, I opened up Trains in Reaper to fix the broken measure as best I could, and it appears that there are other difficulties charted, is Visualiser wrong for these tracks? Edit 2: Oh I see that it’s just expert copied into the other difficulties, butts.
