Honestly have no idea. But we’re here to push limits :-D

HMX limited the RBN audio to compile with quality level 3. C3 has been using quality level 5 (and some users have even maxed it at 10) with no problems. Same goes for album art. We have much higher quality and file size album art than HMX and RBN, with no problems.

So going beyond the 1MB limit may or may not cause problems in game, no way to know until you try

Do you think having a full band custom of this magnitude would cause the game to crash?

It would be interesting to find out for sure!

For the record, I have the full song fixed for Guitar, I just need some one to compile it. I sent an unfinished version to bsbloom but he said he had trouble getting the Practice sections loaded. If anyone wants to try and implement my improved Guitar chart and the Practice events, send me a PM and I can send you the midi so you can compile it (since I can’t).

CAT doesn’t freeze, it either works or fails. If you think it froze it’s because it takes a considerable amount of time to reduce very long charts. Just let it work and it will eventually produce the reductions.

Sounds like this might be a possibility

I think some funny things may happen.

I played through the whole song with my friend on coop, and when we got the score screen at the end, it just said 0 score for band, and 0 for each of us individually as well. (even though when we were still in-song we got about 4.5 million)

So this weeks update reflects the type of music I was really into back in high school and college in the mid to late 90’s. The bands on Epitaph and Fat Wreck labels were the main bands I listened to. These are songs I was able to find in the Frets on Fire forums. Most of them have a good tempo map but there are a few that dont.

Starting off is one of the most successful bands coming from my hometown of Simi Valley, California. You may have heard a song from their’s off of Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock called “Calling”. Here is 3 tracks from them that feature guitar and drums. This band started off as being primarily punk with their sound but gradually developed into a harder metal sounding band. All frets by Superfly360 except the guitar on Blueprint to fall is by Puppetz. Conversions done by me.

Next is a band I was pretty big into in the late 90’s. Their first two albums were really good and I havnt listened to their material after but these songs were all I could find so I went ahead and converted them. After making the customs I realize this album wasnt really that Ska’ish so the genre is kinda wrong. But they used to be ska dammit! Frets by Tormann71 and Ze Great Chef Kevon.

This band should have no introduction. One of the greatest punk bands of all time and still going strong. I found a ton of FOF charts from NoFx but this song was the only one with a tempo map. This was previously a drums only custom so I went ahead and made it PRO. Frets by mrstuprigge.

One of the greatest cover bands comprised of members of various punk rock groups. This is a cover of Seal’s “Crazy”. This features unpitched vocals. Frets by Sygenysis and converted by me first and the me me me’s.

Before anybody says anything. Yes, I know. This chart is severely undercharted. I dont care. Frets by Zpj and converted by me. I put it together really quickly because I just wanted it in my setlist. Sublime’s best song IMO but they have a lot of great songs.

Another legendary punk band here is Pennywise. I found a bunch of charts from them but this was the only one with a tempo map. Charted by Puppetz and converted by me.

Unwritten Law used to be really good. I thought their first 3 albums were fucking awesome. Don’t really care for their material after their self titled 3rd album. I found a few of their older songs on FOF but the tempo map was so bad I couldnt convert them really quick. This is one of their radio friendly songs. Frets by Bizznatch and converted by me.

Nice! I loved the brief ska revival of the late 90s. I will check out all of those (that have drums), but already know I’ll dig Unwritten Law, MF&tGGs, and the Aquabats(!!). Still surprised it took so long to get some, so thanks! I don’t actually know those tracks, but as you say, if it is all that’s out there.

Oops, I just noticed no drums on Unwritten Law. Oh well.

I was considering adding drums to the Pennywise and Unwritten Law songs. These are bands that I really like and I do have some more well know songs from them to do unfortunately they would require a ton of work to re tempo map and get the charts to sync up. I might add drums to “Knocked Down” and “Seein Red” eventually.

The tempo map is bad on that one but I’ll be more than happy to send it to you. This song REALLY needs to be a full band custom. The guitar chart needs alot of work.

                      #429705

I’ll do vox for Date Rape. Unless someone commands me to work on a different custom and does it first.

Either way it’ll get done, I suppose.

I love you. Thanks for that freaking awesome customs.

                      #429721

What an amazing set of songs. Of course, i’m quite hopeful that they may all eventually become full band customs, but hey, a start is a start. Not to mention, finally some damn Aquabats!

                      #429722

These bands and songs kick serious ass, man! Thanks for all the converts, I really like one of them in particular.

But seriously, getting all of these, these band are all wayyyyy too underrepresented in RB, thanks a ton!
