Hi, I have been using customs for a while, but had a lot of trouble (MANY cases of USB corruption) when I redid my setup so wanted to ask a few questions before I make any changes/add songs, etc….Sorry for the long post
My ultimate goal is to survive another corruption. I want to make sure I can make a backup and then recover from failure. So far, I have not done things correct and can’t do this.
I have a XBOX360 with HD and 2 USB drives (TU4, TU5).
I have 2 profiles, one for XBoxLive and one for Customs. Both of these are on the HD (I did this a when a prior USB got corrupt, I lost the USB profile…).
All of my RB3 game files are on the USB (TU4). These include:
RB3 – unknown profile – saved game (I suspect this is the XBoxLive profile, but that USB drive isn’t in the XBOX).
RB3 – customs profile – saved game
RB3 – AV settings
RB3 – Song Cache
RB3 – TU4
Question 1: Did I set this up correctly? Should all of the RB3 game files be on the HD instead of USB/TU4?
(I went and bought all of the RB3 music store songs I wanted, so might not have tried TU5 recently…at one point, I could switch back-n-forth easily…)
I consider the HD to be more reliable that USB (at least for me)…Can these files be manually moved to the HD? Should I move them?
Question 2: Do these two file “customs profile-saved game” and “unknown profile – saved game” contain all of my scores? And if I back these up, then I should be able to recover from another corrupt USB, right?
Question 3: The “Song Cache” file, does that just contain a summary of all found songs in my library? If I were to delete this file, and restart RB3, would both profiles rebuild it and would all of my scores still exist?
What about song ratings? I use this a lot..not sure where they are saved.
Question 4: I have 2 profiles, what RB3 information, if any, is stored in them?
thx!

Your setup sounds correct. For real security: back both sticks up into separate PC folders, and make Yet Another Backup of that.
