Alright people, I decided on Option #2. Before I get the mass of hate posts, hear me out.
Even Harmonix found this to be weird to chart. On their release of the song, they have the splash charted to an open hi-hat, and the ride charted to a Soft Left Cymbal. So either 1) they themselves did not even know what what being played by the stem, or 2) it was too awkward to chart and they had to settle and chart it like that.
That being said, I’m making the decision to chart what can easily be heard. Due to the fact of only having 3 colors [outside of snare], this sections is really, really awkward to chart. I need a splash, ride, small cymbal, crash(s), and two toms. As of now, I went with the splash on yellow (as it does sound like an open hi-hat), small cymbal on blue, crash’s on green or yellow+green, and the tom hit on blue+green.
Animation wise, however, I animated it somewhat correctly. The drummer will be alternating a soft right cymbal and ride for the main beat, soft left cymbals for the small cymbals, and the crash’s as hard left or right depending on where I am.
Please note, I went with this and that is what is going to be uploaded by ejthedj. However… I am most likely going to remake this file towards the end of the album process, and chart it out as alternating Green and Blue (Option #1). This way, people can download which one they want more.
