Muse – The Handler
Before I introduce this track, I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s downloaded the New Radicals custom I shared last month – it’s been downloaded 200 times which, by my standards, is staggering, so thank you everyone!
Right, onto this new one. Muse released a new album this month and, as seems to be about par for the course for Muse these days, some of the tracks are proggy and meandering, while some are completely mindblowingly awesome (IMHO). This track is in the latter group, with some solid riffage, a crazy-long tapping solo, funky basslines, a drum part that will test anyone’s stamina and vocals that go all over the place.
There are some keys in there somewhere, but only about 8 bars’ worth so I haven’t bothered charting them (hey, Harmonix didn’t do the piano in Beast and the Harlot, so I think that’s okay). Also, in the second verse, the lyric booklet says ‘trance formation’ rather than ‘transformation’, so that’s what I’ve gone with.
This is great fun on all instruments, I hope you enjoy it

I love rifftastic Muse so much, we need more of that riffy/old muse from the Showbiz and OoS album days (if i ever learn to convert the current Fof tracks there’d me more out already lol)… so this track is certainly a welcome addition to the growing customs Muse tracklist.
