Think the theme is songs in Fifa games

Also would like to chime in on the depression topic. I have been dealing with it for years. Got really bad the last few years after losing my mom to cancer and dad having a stroke. But focus on the good things in life and not the negative. Hopefully everyone is feeling good these days.

I’m sure if you chart some more KOL Ruck that will put a big smile on your face. And mine too…lol Welcome back and I hope your doing well.

Lots of good guesses – well done! Incidentally, the two customs I’ve already released that would fit into this pack are Cosmopolitan by Nine Black Alps and Fit But You Know It by The Streets.

        NEW – 1st March 2016

        Songs from FIFA Pack 1

        From FIFA 2000:

Robbie Williams – It’s Only Us

        From FIFA 2009:

        Foals – Olympic Airways

        From FIFA 2012:

        Architecture in Helsinki – Escapee

        From FIFA 2015:

        The Griswolds – 16 Years

The FIFA series of video games have been huge for the last 20 years or so, and around the turn of the century started featuring soundtracks including ‘real’ songs. Outside the rhythm game genre, I’ve discovered more new music through FIFA than any other series of games.

So, here are four songs, two of which (Escapee and 16 Years) I first heard on FIFA. Highlights here include the bass lines in It’s Only Us, Olympic Airways and Escapee, the drums in It’s Only Us (played by Chris Sharrock, later of Oasis) and Olympic Airways, the Pro Keys in Escapee and 16 Years and the vocals across the board. Guitar is pretty good throughout but especially in Olympic Airways.

16 Years is probably the least fun to play but is arguably the best song here – I’d recommend giving it a listen to see if you agree

A couple of authoring notes: there are some keys buried in Olympic Airways, but I decided not to chart them – there’s only a few seconds where they are discernible. I found stems for Escapee but they did not include the backing vocals, so I’ve done it just with the lead vocals.

As mentioned above, this brings my total customs beyond the 100 mark – thank you all for your support and I hope you enjoy these ones – more on the way

Oh, I was thinking of Burnout

          #464369

I was a bit sneaky – it could’ve been Burnout just the pack clues could’ve led to Gran Turismo too, as Storm360 said too.

I loved playing Burnout back in the day so maybe that’ll inspire another pack sometime!

Never heard of any of the three bands, but you introduced us to The Joy Formidable, so really excited to give them a shot! Thanks for your work, as always.

Heard a song I really liked the other day and it turned out to be by Foals, so this statement no longer holds true. Just thought I’d share. I’m a sharer.

So, it’s been a while but I’ve got a bit more content on the way. Tomorrow I’ll hopefully be releasing two tracks. Here are a couple of hints:

              – These were the only two tracks on this band’s limited-release debut EP.

              – They were later re-recorded and released as b-sides on a later single.

              – The first track could be described as finger lickin’ good. The second includes a reference to a world famous artwork.

              See you tomorrow!

              NEW – 20th May 2016

Feeder – Two Colours EP – The start of the ridiculously-over-the-top-Feeder-discography-project! (better name to be decided… maybe something to do with chronicles)

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since my last customs were released – sorry for the delay but I hope you’ve been enjoying the existing ones in the meantime!

Today I’ve got Feeder’s debut release, an EP called Two Colours that received a very limited release in 1995. It was mainly sold at their gigs that year. Back then, Feeder were a lot more grunge-y than the power-pop they became well known for in the early 2000s. This is much more in the vein of Smashing Pumpkins or Pearl Jam, even Tool with some of the basslines and drumbeats going on.

Both of these tracks were later rerecorded and released as b-sides on 1997’s Cement single. An instrumental of the rerecorded Chicken on a Bone was featured on the soundtrack to Gran Turismo.

This small release marks the start of what I want to become a BIG Feeder project. Their overall discography is one of the most varied and consistently good I’m aware of. A huge number of their songs would be awesome to play in Rock Band (as I think these two songs demonstrate), so I’m going to start working through their releases, including a large number of b-sides. I’ve already started work on their next release after Two Colours, the 1996 mini-album ‘Swim’, which features even more songs that were featured on Gran Turismo. It originally came out 20 years ago next month so keep an eye out for that soon.

In the meantime, here are the two new songs – I hope you enjoy them!

Feeder – Chicken on a Bone

              Feeder – Pictures of Pain

EDIT: Didn’t link to the database – whoops!
