I went to play Rock Band Blitz with my flash drive of all of my downloaded customs for Rock Band 3, and I noticed that the songs also appear in Blitz while still being on Xbox Live, even. And if you hover over them, the song plays like any other would before selecting the song to play. I am able to select any custom song and prepare for it with Power-Ups, and get as far as the loading screen where it tells you to press A to begin. But then it fails to load and brings up the “disc unreadable” error. I want to know if any of you guys authoring the customs can take this and go behind the scenes and see if it’s possible to get these playable on Blitz. It has to be if the songs between 3 and Blitz are compatible in ways, like the Rock Band Blitz Soundtrack being playable in Rock Band 3 and every single DLC song is playable in both games. You can’t tell me that Harmonix went behind each individual song and made it specifically perfect or whatever for Rock Band Blitz. Somehow they were converted. Someone who knows what they’re doing, please explore this. Thanks in advance.

The RBB engine just parses the existing content in a different way.

The same method used to block customs under TU5 in RB3 ostensibly is blocking them in RBB, so, you’d need a modded console.

Yep. JTAG Xbox con play those songs in RBB, otherwise you can’t.

It would be amazing if it was possible. I would enjoy playing all these songs on Blitz because I play it more than the instrument Rock Bands. And also, I had just got Rock Band 3 for the Xbox 360, it being the only Rock Band game I have ever gotten for Xbox 360 (not including Blitz), and I don’t even have instruments yet. Therefore, I can’t play it yet. Soon I will at least get a guitar controller. Anyway, I just thought it’d be cool to mention that because it seemed possible. Thank you.

I have a modded xbox but never tried to play customs on Blitz. I’m tempted to try the Dream Theater “12 Piece Suite” custom. Would be one hell of a huge score for that custom.

If you find out if you can play them on Blitz, if you want, please tell me because I would like to know what you did to be able to do it.

I’m pretty sure you can, I’ve seen some videos on Youtube showing people with modded 360’s play customs on Blitz but the leader boards didn’t work.

You’ve already been told. You need a modded Xbox. Do you already have a modded Xbox? Then throw the CONs at C3 CON Tool’s CON Converter so you can get them out as LIVE. Then put those in your modded Xbox and play them on Blitz. Don’t have a modded Xbox? It’s not possible.

I know that, I’m not slow. I was talking to the guy who has the modded Xbox. If he can play Rock Band Blitz customs, then I would like to know what he did to do it.

He bought a JTAG Xbox or modified it himself. However, modding is beyond the scope of our forums, so I would suggest googling JTAG and modded Xbox. With a modded console song files can simply be loaded where the marketplace files are usually loaded, so nothing special is needed software-side.

Unfortunately we get many “dur how do I click on this thing? what is Windowz?” kind of questions, so I no longer assume anything.

In any case, like farottone says, the process for using customs in Blitz is the same as in Rock Band once you have modded the xbox. Except CON files (normal customs) go in Saved Games, and LIVE files go in Marketplace Content, which is a different folder. I’m sure you can find instructions on how to put the file in the right folder once you’ve gotten the xbox modded.

    Wait, what songs and how?

(I came back to this post because I figured out that I could play “Black Hole Sun”, “Enter Sandman”, and “Paranoid” on Blitz)

(I also apologize for this post being in the Other Customs forum, I didn’t know what I was doing at the time I made this forum)
