The video tutorial for C3 CON Tools should cover how to use CON Creator.

 

You can add files manually and create the structure manually, or drag and drop an existing structure into CON Creator and it should keep it organized. Open a couple of CON files so you can see how it’s structured inside. CON Creator really makes it easy though – read the help doc and/or the video.

 

As far as the DTA, each song has it’s own DTA file. A pack of songs only has one DTA file, with multiple entries. If you want, you can make a pack of the songs and just add the big DTA file that the game already has. If you want to package them individually, then you need to go into the big DTA file, and separate each song entry into individual songs.dta files (they must have that name though, so one at a time or something. songs(2).dta isn’t going to work.

 

But it’s much easier to make a pack (in theory it should already be in the right structure for CON Creator) and then use Quick Pack Editor to separate the songs automatically if you want to have them separate.

IIRC, the game uses videos for the audio and as such, won’t work with the midi out upgrade midi.

I just bought me a copy of the AC/DC Rock Band “Track Pack” for Wii, converted the DVD to ISO and took a glimpse at the file structure.

 

Wouldn’t it be possible to convert the .bik files there to RB 3 by myself for my personal use? If so, is it allowed to ask how I could accomplish such a thing? Any hint would be much appreciated. And sorry that this thread is mutating to offtopic now.

 

What pgm did you use to extract iso files. I converted disc (LGR:cool: with wiiBackupManager. Now I have the ISO, but can’t extract any files from it?

I extracted the “songs” folder from the .ARK file and now got all the song folders with a “gen” folder and .mid, .mogg and .pan files.

 

Are those sufficient to build CON files? Could you explain the part with the DTA entry futher or is it all (or most of it) explained in the CON tools tutorial video?

 

 

I’m at this point as well, but with another disc. I’m working on RB1(wii version) songs. I just can’t seem to find a DTA file.

There is one big DTB file. I don’t know how to convert it to DTA. I can open it with a hex editor, but not sure what to use to convert it.

I couldn’t find any reference to the CON creator in the video, he goes over the CON explorer.

Our project is about adding custom songs, not tampering with original content, so please look elsewhere for tools and information on how to do this.
