Rock Band 4 PS4 with PS2 instruments

Hi all.
So I read that RB4 was not very good so I didn’t give it much thought. However, I remembered today that the old Rock Band 1 Special Edition for PS2 purportedly contained PS3 instruments and I also read that PS3 instruments are directly compatible with RB4 on PS4.
If I just buy the RB4 disc, will I be able to use my old PS2 instruments to play? Wanted to check and make sure before I tracked down the disc, didn’t see anything when I searched.
