No ions at launch…very disappointing. I understand that it’s probably pretty underutilized, but still. I can’t justify spending money on a downgraded drum kit.
I’ll just have to cross my fingers and pester Ion.
If anyone likewise wants to send Ion some feedback (which is HMX’s suggestion), check ’em out here: https://www.ionaudio.com/support/customer-care/us
August 1, 2015 at 10:47 am #451772“We will not be supporting the keyboard peripheral in Rock Band 4.”Since that was an answer to the request for “guitar on keys” support, I’m not sure if that’s supposed to mean they’re completely slamming the door on the possibility of keyboards in RB4. But it sure sounds like it.
I made a case on the RB forums that they were dropping the keyboard not because they didn’t have the resources but by design. People got all hot and bothered and kept pointing out that they just needed to issue an update. I suppose this settles it.
August 2, 2015 at 7:18 am #451848totally understand the decision to drop the keys – RB3 was the lowest-selling of the core RB titles, which probably means that the adoption rate for the keyboard is significantly lower than that of the other instruments. They did include questions about keys in their Rock Band survey that dropped either earlier this year or last year (I forget when). I’m sure HMX have the numbers on their side.
It’s disappointing for those of us who like keys, but I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s a slap in the face. Some people have opted to be very angry about what is, I think, a fairly sensible business decision.
August 18, 2015 at 1:24 pm #453001Will RB4 include harmonies or “single vocals” only as GH? I’m considering to buy a Xbox One when RB4 comes out, because of old peripherals & DLCs compatibility.
Thanks!

It will include harmonies, and they have announced that also all available songs previously released, excluding RBN material, will in fact include harmonies.
August 18, 2015 at 4:27 pm #453008Great! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Have they also confirmed that Xbox 360 -> PS4 compatibility (DLCs and peripherals) is not going to happen or is it still something like “work in progress but don’t count on it”?
EDIT: OK, I found the answer in a FAQ on HMX forums, and the answer is “no”.
August 18, 2015 at 8:24 pm #453018It was never even a “work in progress.” It was more of a “it could happen, technically, but the first-parties have never been that generous before and they aren’t going to be now, either”.

Oh well, that’s about where I had tempered my expectations anyway.
*sigh*
Well, there it is. Too bad, but not unexpected.
August 28, 2015 at 2:04 am #453754August 28, 2015 at 2:05 am #453755…aaannnd the game crashed at the end of the song?! Rebooted and everything. And they’re joking about it. Wat.
August 28, 2015 at 7:03 am #453772Looks like they need more playtesting! Good thing I’ll be back in Boston in a few more days, maybe I can help them out with their final polishing ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
August 28, 2015 at 2:32 pm #453811That is some big hair. I love it.
September 7, 2015 at 2:58 pm #454457Anyone looking for a good deal may want to pre-order from Mad Catz using Promo Code LDY25. I just bought the Xbox One Band-in-a-Box Bundle for $187.49 shipped. That is a hell of a deal to me.

That is a hell of a deal to me.Agreed, this puts it on par, price wise, with the previous Rock Band band-in-a-box bundles. I’m tempted by this and I already have enough instruments to allow to play full band with all the bells and whistles day 1 just with one of the XBonx adapters.

It won’t work on the guitar bundles so they somehow messed up by allowing it to work on the band bundle
