I hope they release the adapter by itself, I have already pre ordered the guitar bundle but would like to use my guitar hero II guitar as well <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Harmonix publicist (Nick Chester) posts on the RB4 thread on Neogaf and has said they plan to sell the adapter separately and hope to have it available by itself at launch.

Awesome! Did they say how much it was going to be?

All this “hope” and “plan” stuff leaves me wary. They “plan” to get the adapter out separately. They “hope” to eventually sell the instruments separately.

Well, what if it doesn’t happen? If I get the adapter version and my current instruments fail (which they will, eventually) and the new instruments don’t end up getting sold separately, what do I then? And if I get the guitar bundle in order to hedge my bets, and I don’t like the new guitar (I’m very attached to my Gretsch), and the adapter doesn’t come out individually, what then?

“Hope” should stay on the soccer field, imo.

            Well, Game+Adapter is $80, so I’m guessing it’ll be $20 by itself.

I did find this nugget on the official forums:

“DLC that is no longer available for purchase: HMX said that even if you can’t currently buy a song in the store, if you purchased it before it was removed from the store you will still be able to get it in RB4. “

There is no source given, but if true, would be huge for me. At least I could still play Don’t Stop Believin’ in RB4.

I’m confused here. Can’t you play it now in RB3?

Yes. But it was pulled from the store, so there wasn’t a guarantee it would be playable in RB4.

If you’re confused by why being able to play it in RB4 is important to me, it’s that I foresee a day where I might not be able to play RB3 anymore. Whether that’s from instrument failure, console failure, or lack of interest, I don’t know.

Also, the more of my favorite songs that I can play in RB4, the more likely I am to buy it.

I get that. Your post sounded to me like for some reason you couldn’t play it in RB3 now.

                          Permanent no fail mode?
