EvilChameleonMemberWhy donate to them then instead of donating to this very website?

TrojanNemoParticipantWhy donate to them then instead of donating to this very website?
Well, for one, you can’t donate to this website because C3 doesn’t take donations.

froogleMemberAlso, I don’t belong on this website because I’m “lesser” than everyone else here. Solely because I play and chart for Phase Shift, and rarely for Rock Band 3. That being said, I’m not a part of the C3 family, so if I could, I wouldn’t donate to C3. However, I have respect for this website and all creators from both here and FoF. So if the kickstarter goes well, and it benefits the customs world, then I can go to bed happy knowing that I helped these communities.

You’re not lesser, you’re just “different”.

I’m wary about one thing in particular: outsourcing the development. I understand why they’d do it, but in my experience this usually just leads to a garbage port.

anglebracketMemberif this does succeed, it may be the thing that pushes me to give RB4 a shot. i’m particularly interested in the prospect of RBN returning, but given what’s gone down in the months since RB4’s launch, i have almost no faith that this will end well.

NyxyxylythParticipantCall me when they’re pimping RB3 for PC.

Chaotic HazeMemberAlthough I think this is a decent idea, there are still many questions in the air about this, including DLC, hardware, and mod support.
However, if you guys can find out a way to have customs on RB4PC (and my old 360 RB/GH controllers work, which they should, as GH3 works with 360 guitars), then Ill buy.

EvilChameleonMemberJeff Gerstmann also has some choice words for this bizarre idea.

soulkeeperxParticipantSo if this gets funded and RBN comes back, what are the chances of C3 being able to make customs for RB4?
March 2, 2016 at 6:30 am #464489
SideshowParticipantIf this is the way to get RBN 3.0 to arise then I’m all for it. I just don’t feel like starting over from scratch amasing a library on the PC after investing so much on the consoles. Let’s hope that most of the user created content on the PC gets ported over to the consoles.

FarottoneKeymasterI don’t understand the negativity to be honest. People have lamented the lack of a PC version for ages. People also have lamented the lack of RBN for Rock Band 4. If people are serious enough about wanting those things, they can fund them. If they are not, it means there wasn’t a big enough audience for them.

I totally agree with you Farottone.
Can’t we all wait to see if the PC version even happen’s before we start bashing & ripping it apart ?
If it supports my E drums which RB4 and xbox 1 doesn’t, and I can use my guitars I already own.
I would welcome a PC version. Especially since I own 3 PC’s and 1 laptop. Still haven’t purchased a Xbox 1 just to play RB4, not sure I ever will !

PikminGuts92ParticipantHonestly, I can’t wait to dig through RB4’s game files. There might be a learning curve since the game was developed on a new engine from RB3. But really, who wouldn’t be excited to reverse engineer new HMX files?!?
You can bet porting of RB3 customs will happen one way or another.

FarottoneKeymasterTo be clear, I agree that Rock Band should be a cross-system platform and it surely is not a complex technical thing to do. But I also can see that it would eat into their margins and/or cause complications with Sony/Microsoft.
