Scott Weiland former STP singer was found unresponsive earlier this morning while touring in Minnesota with the Wildabouts. It appears he passed away in his sleep.
STP was one of my favorite bands in the 90’s. They had some great hits.
It’s a shame he could never get off the hard drugs & stay clean.
Such a waste of talent……

The morning radio show here had him play a show for them back in July and they said the guy couldn’t even light his own cigs. He had to be carried to a golf cart to get to the stage. Plus he had been using a “teleprompter” for all his lyrics. Guy couldn’t even remember songs he wrote. He was a wreck. And I guess the mother of the DJ said that he wouldnt last 6 months. Well July to December is 5.
And he was known for never hanging out in the club/venue before his band would play. He was lock himself up in his tour bus. When they found him unresponsive, it was right before he was supposed to take the stage. I could be wrong but thats what I heard.
I’m pretty sure that Neil Young wrote at least a couple of famous lyrics about this kind of dude. You know which ones.
Great frontman, great vocalist for a (relatively) brief moment in time, then gone.

Already informed all my band mates. Nothing but STP songs tonight.
Just feels like a good thing to do.
