Rules
.1 – Don’t recommend bands that everybody knows about (ex: Metallica, Weezer, Led Zeppelin)
.2 – Don’t be an anus-head. don’t recommend Darude – Sandstorm xD lol
I like Mostly Everything, so, recommend me anything xD
I’ll go first
If you are a Thrash Metal addict, you’ll love Tantara’s debut album, “Based On Evil”. Why? because this album is packed with awesome guitar riffs, Mind Blowing Bass-lines, Amazing Drum fills and pretty damn good vocals. and on top of that, Fleming Rasmussen produced it… yeah…
if you like ’em, please support the band, buy their album, i did xD
August 23, 2014 at 2:05 pm #427745Awesome band you’re suggesting! I’ll giving a deeper listening later for sure,love thrash,thanks for sharing.
I make some proposals:
I don’t wanna suggest Babymetal because that would be so obvious ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” /> But in case that someone would give it a listen, here is Megitsune:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK3NMZAUKGw
(I don’t want to but I’m doing it anyway LOL Sorry for this.)
You said Thrash and Angelus Apatrida come to my mind:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZcpiT1A1rY
Great band IMHO and They’re from Spain!(I guess I’ll have to promote the bands from my country ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” /> ).
Because I love Japanese culture, let me suggest Whispered:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuDKqaqdhH8
They’re from Finland but clearly Japanese-themed Death-prog-fuckin-awesome Metal.
And to finish one of my favourites band ever, more slowly-paced symphonic music but awesome as well,Haggard:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSFEv9eaoh4
They’re german and almost the Kelly Family of Metal LOL,they’re three first albums gives me goosebumps every time I listen to them.Hope someone in here could appreciate them as much as I do ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> but for now I will look this thread for discover new bands and great music recommended for this cool community, like Tantara, for example ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” /> .
August 24, 2014 at 5:35 am #427806…but for now I will look this thread for discover new bands and great music recommended for this cool community, like Tantara, for example ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_emot-3.gif” /> .That’s exactly what i was aiming for, lol.
and good bands, too xP
IF… you like the band Korn, you’ll like this ONE song…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hjzk_91HkO0… or maybe all of ’em… by the very good Avant Garde Metal band called Nuclear Rabbit
August 26, 2014 at 6:06 pm #427991I want to recommend a band!
They’re a recently signed band from Northern NJ,
They kinda dabble in all different genres. Pop-Punk, Electronic, Metalcore.
It’s great!
September 7, 2014 at 11:41 pm #428745I have a recommendation!
A band that were active mostly during the late 90’s and early 00’s, Nothingface.
They’re an alternative metal band that actually has some really interesting song-writing in terms of rythm and technical stuff.
Besides, how can you not love a band that has a song called “Murder is Masturbation” ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
September 9, 2014 at 11:49 pm #428835Nothingface? Isn’t that the name of a voivod album?
Oh… Did I mention voivod? They are a thrash metal band with a somewhat weird and unique sound. I recommend their new album, target earth.
Anyway, from what I’m hearing, I think I’ll take a shot at charting it. Also great recommendations guys!
September 10, 2014 at 8:41 pm #428887Anyone who likes Sammy Hagar and Journey should check out HSAS, Hagar Schon Arronson Shrieve, a project that saw Sammy Hagar and Neal Schon team up. The result is pretty good IMO. The album is hard to find though, its called Through The Fire. Definitely an interesting listen.
September 23, 2014 at 9:57 pm #429771Hey, anyone here ever hear of Chickenfoot before? they’re a pretty decent hard rock supergroup.
September 24, 2014 at 2:14 pm #429798Hey, I recall giving it a try when the first album was released, but I don’t remember much of it (I was 14). Maybe I’ll pick up the second album to see if I still like it. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Here’s something for noise rock/alternative fans:
Future of the Left, a great band from Wales! You might know Andrew Falkous, the lead singer/guitarist, who was in mclusky:
He also released a solo (one man band) album on Bandcamp under the name of Christian Fitness that you can stream for free and/or buy. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
September 24, 2014 at 5:53 pm #429806Infectious grooves
September 26, 2014 at 11:55 pm #429989To stay on the funk metal genre, what do you think about Primus’ two last songs from their upcoming album, Pure Imagination and Golden Ticket ? All I can say is that it really reminds me of The Residents (can’t tell if that’s a good or bad thing though), but I hope they’ll have some heavier songs. But hey, it’s a Willy Wonka tribute after all..
By the way, this thread kinda reminds me of This Is My Jam, which basically lets you post your favorite song for the week (using YouTube, Soundcloud, etc.) to recommend to your followers and everyone else. You can discover some great stuff this way, using recommendation and following people with similar musical tastes. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” /> Here’s my profile in case some of you already have one ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
EDIT: In case Primus is too mainstream… “famous” to be recommended, here’s a
featuring Mike Patton and Buckethead playing together!
September 27, 2014 at 12:27 am #429998Such a shame that Buckethead + Patton gig is only a bootleg and not a HD release, would have paid good money for a DVD copy of that show for sure from listening to this. Also can’t wait for Primus’ new album, always thought Willy Wonka could use a bit more funk ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_cheeky.001.gif” />
Since we are getting into the “weird Metal” subgenres at the moment, how about some Tub Ring with a short but sweet tune about vikings http://youtu.be/WyavFesSGac
September 30, 2014 at 9:26 pm #430217Speaking of Mike Patton, new Faith no More in April next year ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />, and one things for sure, I’m pretty damn excited for it.
Well, here’s my recommendation. Fueled by fire. You should definitely check them out, if you like death and slayer… Lol.
October 25, 2014 at 6:38 am #431634If you like hip hop with amazing lyrical structure I highly recommend watsky.
Hes a spoken word poet and phenomenal speed rapper. His songs range from as silly as the slim shady songs to as deep as.. Well some of the songs that have affected you the most. He talks about issues, his own and ones he sees in the world. His new album is beautiful. It’s named all you can do. And to quote him directly he named the album all you can do because some times shit happens and you just need to do all you can do.
If you’re into creepy synth rock creature feature has you covered.
They sound like if you took alt rock and drowned it in skeletons, zombies, witches and blood. Usually hide out most of the year to emerge just before Halloween to drop either a few singles or a full album and then your behind it for all of October. Noteworthy tracks are buried alive, corpse in my bed and aim for the head.
