I don’t advise you use that method though, because it’s messy as hell. Lay down your notes and if you can’t find the pitches use the ReaTune plugin to find them, instead of writing out MIDI events that clutter the track.

So what is the Reatone plugin? anything that would help me with vocals would help, but I will still try the other thing out.

I think the page is old, as I can’t find some of the options.

I wonder how many other people don’t think they can chart vocals or have given up because they can’t hear the notes as they lay down the tubes? I can’t imagine trying to chart vocals without hearing the notes as I place them. I’ve had issues before when, for some reason or other, REAPER won’t play the note I’m clicking in the editor – then I play around with settings and eventually get it working (but I can’t say how – hit and miss and it’s been a while). In order to hear harmony tracks, for example, I had to learn that PART VOCALS cannot muted or the HARM parts will be muted, even if they themselves are not muted – at least it seems that way on mine. Maybe this has something to do with solo-ing the tracks? I’m no REAPER expert, I’ll tell you that much. I know just enough to squeeze out workable midis and wavs thanks to these friendly forums and our old pal Google. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
