Hi everyone, I’m new here. Just came across this place and can’t believe what I’m seeing really! This is exactly what I need to get some custom songs into RB3!
I own RB3 and currently have the RB1 (wired) guitar, RB1 (wired) drums, RB1 mic and RB3 keyboard along with the RB3 game of course.
I know that these all work fine with RB3 except for the fact you can’t play Pro Guitar or Pro Drums with these instruments.
Anyway basically what I was wondering and sorry if this seems like a silly question, will I be able to use these custom songs within RB3 without being able to play Pro Guitar or Pro Drums with these instruments?
Anyone who can answer this for me, it will be greatly appreciated! Really looking forward to playing some of these custom songs within RB3 and maybe even having a go at creating some songs myself (if it’s not too difficult for me anyway haha!)
April 22, 2014 at 2:47 am #418502Pro guitar is a very small part of the customs community. Most of us that have everything else up to date don’t even have pro guitars, and most customs don’t have pro guitar / pro bass charted. Pro drums are not needed, the game engine takes care of it when you enable/disable the cymbals in the game menu.
So yes, you can play with the old hardware. Though I have to say, that RB1 kit makes me want to rage. I hate that plasticky clack clack clack >” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

Thanks very much for the quick reply! Yeah I was thinking about getting myself some RB3 hardware at some point, maybe the drums first so I can use the cymbals. Although, looking online they are hard to find to be able to buy. Have they stopped selling them?
April 22, 2014 at 2:57 am #418504You’re way late to the party. They stopped making them like 2 years ago and finding them is next to impossible.
I lucked out twice in getting the Beatles Limited Edition set which has excellent drums. I have never seen rb3 drums for sale anywhere online for less than ridiculous prices.
If you’re in the US i would recommend craigslist. Search for my thread on what I’ve gotten there.

Had a feeling I might be. Not played RB for a while and over past month or so, I’ve started getting back into it again! I’m UK too, will have to have a look around to see if I can find anything, if not I will have to make do with what I’ve got! Thanks for the help!
