Alright, I’m lucky enough to be part of MAGfest, and one of the people running the con, Dom, is lead keyboardist for Rare Candy, an awesome VG rock band.
“Super Metroid/Metroid Medley” –
“Undersea Palace” (Chrono Trigger) –
“Plantation/Tal Tal Heights” (Cave Story/Legend of Zelda) –
“Intro/Ken’s Theme/Ryu’s Theme” (Street Fighter 2) –
“Sand Canyon 2/Green Greens” (Kirby’s Dreamland) –
I’ve seen them live a bunch of times, and I know a lot of you guys would enjoy having more VG music in your libraries. I contacted Dom about using the stems, and was told that due to the way it was mixed, it’d be impossible for them to take them stems out without having to remix the entire album. He DID give his support for charting any of their songs, especially since they’d very likely get played at MAGfest (by way of yours truly) which he would want to see (and possibly play).
None of the tracks have vocals (what I normally go for first), but I’m going to try and get BPM maps for a few of them, upload them with a rough drum chart, you guys can check them out and see if you want to help. Assuming we could pick out lead keys from rhythm easily enough, I could potentially see two versions of each song (so both keyboardists could get the pro keys treatment), which would obviously take a lot of work from people who know their pro keys charting.
If anyone is interested, let me know. I can push a few things to the side if people really want to work on them.
