    Hey again.

Im charting a song called Misery by Green Day and i have at least 13 notes in one second for part of the guitar solo. Which MIDI item can I use to make a roll type thing in RB3 for guitar? Strum? Trill?

Im not sure how to explain the “roll thing”, if you would like to correct me, feel free.

If the strum and trill MIDI notes have nothing to do with the roll thing, what are they for?

Which item do I use for the roll thing?

    Thanks <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

Use a tremolo lane. Trill lanes are for two alternating notes.

I don’t have a tremolo lane in REAPER… it just goes the Expert lanes, overdrive marker, BRE lanes, then the trill marker?

You might not be using a recent template then. There should be a Tremolo or “Strum Marker” one lane under the Trill one. The trill should be at the top [128] so it should* be on lane 127.

Show All Lanes -> Rename 127 to “Tremolo” or “Strum Marker”

From here, you might want to File -> Customize Note Names -> Save Note Names to File

and then update the existing Guitar names that you had. I’d also update your base template so that you don’t have to make this change each time as well.

Also just to be sure, make sure that the Trill/Gliss/Strum/Roll marker ends directly on the last note so Magma doesn’t freak out about it

I have “RBN Blank Template,” “RBN2 Template,” and “RBNTemplate.” I have no idea which one I’ve used for my projects.

Sounds like you’re missing the C3 template which can save you headaches in the future, it’s a part of this package of files (should be instructions in there too)
