I had around 800 songs before, 390 were like custom. And recently I just started to download 880 custom songs to add into my game. I’ve done everything, I’ve converted the songs to PS3, I copied my old songs.dta file and copied it over to the “Merged Songs” folder. It seems like I’ve done a pretty nice job. But when I load up the game it only loads like 1150 songs, instead of 1500-1600 songs. And I’ve noticed the custom songs from the ones with the previous artists customs don’t add up. So it’s only customs with new artists.
Do you guys have an idea with my problem?

I think in general any case of songs not showing up on the list in the game means an error in songs.dta.
December 19, 2019 at 8:47 pm #508514No, I copied old songs.dta first with an empty “Merged Songs” folder and then I merged and converted it in one go. Heck, the method I used to do before with the songs.dta was to even copy and paste the lines in Notepad++ it worked back then.

December 19, 2019 at 9:32 pm #508516Songs not showing up indeed means an error in the dta file. It’s usually not recommended to add such a large number of songs on case one of the dta entry is bad, then it’s easier to find the culprit when you only add small batches.

What do you think could be the maximum amount of songs in one dta file? And how do you add multiple batches? Any tutorial?
December 19, 2019 at 9:57 pm #508519There is no maximum that’s not what I meant. Well there is but it’s global, 3000 songs.
If you add for example batches of 50 songs, it’s easier to find a problematic song if a problem occurs than if you added lets say 800 songs.
And you just add one batch at a time. You test each batch make sure it works.
C3 uploads are not verified, any one of them could not work for any reasons.

If you still have the old .dta file and songs in CON’s try the same method once again, be sure to choose Rebuilder type 2 with 10 seconds wait. I had simmilar problem but with freezing console while loading customs. II it’s not gonna help try as said above, adding them by no more than 100 songs add to .dta and checking after every addition.

So I have to retransfer the files? It takes so long to transfer the songs in mmCm I have to manually press overwrite every file. And FTP is stressing me out, for some reason I can’t connect.

Press Select + X and you select all files in folder ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” /> took me a while to get to it. And always rename old .dta file so it wont be overwritten in case if something goes wrong
P.S .dta file is holy grail, always keep backup named wiith number of songs or with date ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />
P.S2 ogh, you meant overwriting files which needs to press left + X, yeah… It is pain in the ass but theres no way around. Worst part is when you missclick and press NO which cancells whole operation xD

Well, before rebuilding the customs with different options, I would rather try to simply regenerate the songs.dta file…
It only ever happened to me once, and in my case like yours it totally froze the console, and I even had to reinstall the whole HFW because it was stuck in a loop of “the system was not shut down properly”.
But the problem is not usually the files of the customs but rather the content of songs.dta being wrongly formatted and causing the game to panic. One option is to regenerate it by running a second copy of C3 CON TOOLS (so that it ends up in a different “Merged Songs” folder), and then overwriting the problematic songs.dta with the new one, with a smaller number of additional songs, without the need to remove the others from the files.
So I would first follow this idea, to avoid having to re-transfer all the customs files and folders.

I managed to show at least 1400 songs, before I only had like 1100 songs. But then I saw other customs no longer show up as well. And some of the custom artists that I had before didn’t have any new songs that I had downloaded. What I did was I converted the Xbox 360 customs to PS3 with seperate songs.dta files then I merged them into one songs.dta file. The game works, but it loads so slow, and some of the songs end abruptly too.
December 20, 2019 at 3:07 pm #508540I’m thinking of just redownloading the 390 customs that I’ve had before one by one. And then adding it to the 880 songs that I downloaded recently. But this one is going to take some work if I do it, and I’m not even too sure if I’ll get it to work properly. Heck that would mean I would have to delete my whole customs folder as well.
BTW, this is my new songs.dta https://drive.google.com/open?id=1rbORG7HEV69XfgU9yCKSw8aL3O5CHh2u
