looks like the ps3 link to “Aerosmith – I don’t want to miss a thing” is broken.

Thanks for your hint – it’s up now!

The rar for Crash Test Dummies – Mmm Mmm Mmm contains an unencrypted .mid instead of a .mid.edat, so it won’t work.

edit: song worked great once i manually encrypted it.

I’m going to post this here just for info if hamburgerjung has time to look at these.

There are 3 songs I’ve picked up out of the ‘Other Customs’ area that are giving the ‘Skipping’ message.

That’s out of about 160 songs I pulled off that section.

I’m curious as to why these would not work, when the majority did just fine.

The error seems to be in using type 2 Midi encryption. CONTool reports a failure on this.

Type 1 works, but the songs won’t load.

I’m not sure if this is an authoring issue or a CONTool issue.

Well, for some reasons there are songs that are not be compatible with the C3 CON tool.

So you have to encrypt the edat files by yourself and add these manually afterwards.

Since these songs are not part of the C3 database I cannot offer them as fixed download files.

If you still have problems in encrypting the songs just send me a pm and we will find a way to run them… <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif” />

                    Some bad luck on the 12/25 release <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

All have capital letters in the folder structures which is causing load issues on PS3.

The other 7 songs are fine.

                    Strawberry Fields Forever The Beatles

                    Crazy Bitch Buckcherry

                    The Infection Disturbed

Over My Head (Cable Car) The Fray

5 Colours in Her Hair McFly

                    Everybody’s Talkin’ Nilsson

Wish You Were Here Pink Floyd

                    Too Many Puppies Primus

Sympathy for the Devil The Rolling Stones

The PS3 converter should be taking care of that in the conversion process :ohdear:

Hmm, that’s strange cause it worked in the former versions of C3 tools, I have in mind. :raise:

Thanks for the hint, Gep. I’ll fix it asap.

And by the way, congrats to your first custom song loser – can’t wait to download the final song with vocals! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

                        EDIT: It’s fixed now and should work properly. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

There was a skipping song issue on Walking in the Air by Nightwish thats fixed now.

So if you have already downloaded this song before try again, please.

Incidentally, I hypothesized over in the other PS3 thread that capital letters in the paths aren’t an issue, you just need to make sure the match (path in dta + file on ps3 have same case) – see the RBN songs for example. this is pretty easy/obvious on unix filesystems where case matters, but not so much on windows.

Also, the short name can have capitals, but if it doesn’t have quotes, it’ll be interpreted as lower case, which becomes important if you’re applying upgrades since the two must match. customs like APC – Judith and the RBN stuff show this too.

This could probably be fixed by forcing Magma to save all lowercase folder names, which is good practice anyway.

working on some RBHP related stuff, I noticed that the C3 release of Jimi Hendrix – Purple Haze (Live) and Nirvana – About A Girl (Live From MTV Unplugged) both duplicate the shortname from the original Harmonix non-live versions. I’d suggest updating the C3 ones (at least for the PS3 packages) to purplehazelive and aboutagirllive respectively. I haven’t tested either to see if the duplicate name is an issue during gameplay, but it’s tripping up the RBHP installer I’m working on since it breaks the shortname uniqueness.
