Hi guys!

 

Usually I launch RB3 from my Dashlaunch’s shortcut, but I accidently launched the game from Aurora (which I installed recently).

 

Aurora applied TU5 (Mad Catz logo), and the customs songs now crash (not the proper DLC though).

 

Problem, when I got back to TU4, the game tells that my profile (save game) belong to an newer TU, and cannot be loaded.

 

WIth TU4, customs work again, but I care my profile very much (I’ve spend years to favorite songs, etc).

 

Now I have to choose to play the game with a new profile, or use my profile but not be able to play custom songs..

 

Is there a way to convert my profile back to TU4 configuration ?

 

I know that customs cannot be played under TU5 on a non-modded console, but I use a Jtag, so maybe I could mod the game to be able to play customz again ?

The only way to prevent it is to follow our 2 sticks method. Once a profile is converted, you’re stuck with it.

Since you are are on a RGH, convert your custom songs to LIVE (JTAG) format using C3 Con Tools, that will allow you to play them under Title Update 5.

 

PS, I’ve never had a problem switching between TU4 and 5 in regards to save games, is this not the norm?

If it’s so, you are using 2 different medium for your TUs.

Also, this is probably a good time to realize you should always have a backup of your band save file in case this sort of thing happens.

Using digital copy for playing on TU5 and a disc copy for TU4 on my retail xbox, just disconnecting the xbox from the internet for TU4

 

on my RGH i’m just switching title updates using Aurora dash’s title update feature. I remember having problems when TU5 first dropped too (I actually deleted my customs for a few years because of that) but figured that y’all somehow worked around the deleting update problem in that time.

Ok, I used C3CONToolsv395 to convert CON files to LIVE format, redownloaded and enabled TU5, and used a temporary profile just to see if it worked (to not mess up my new TU4 profile).. but the customs doesn’t appear in the library.

 

I also used XM360 to check if those customs were locked, but they already unlocked.

 

Did I missed something ?

Did you put them in the 00000001 folder? You need to change them to 00000002 when dealing with LIVE files instead.

As you guessed, I forgot to put the file to the 00000002 folder.

 

Now I can play with my profile again (I’m glad I didn’t decided to overwrite it in case of someone gave a solution).

No problem, I only use con files on my legit Xbox, on my RGH its the LIVE files only, as a bonus they even work in RB Blitz

Sorry, but I have another question, and since it’s TU5 related (I think) I prefer to not create a second topic :

 

When I made some tests with a fresh profile, and selected a song with pro drum difficulty, the game asked to pick cymbals I can play and.. charleston pedal ??

I don’t remember anything about that charleston pedal and I’m almost sure that option came from title update #5.

 

I own an electronic drum set with ION controller (from my older ION [Rock Band] drum set which is dead now), so I maybe I could play RB3 with my charley’s pedal (?)

 

I didn’t succed to found anything about that feature, or patch notes about TU5, so maybe I’m wrong about this but.. I don’t know if/how I could use that pedal with my ION controller.

I assume Charleston Pedal is Hi Hat

 

If so, this has always been in the game regardless of TU, it let’s you toggle between changing the sound of the hi-hat (yellow cymbal) when pressed for free style sections, or instead making it function as a second bass pedal
