Hi at all! Harmonix has made the new Dance Central: Spotlight without telling anything to fans… it was also playable at E3. So, now very likely they are thinking about a new Rock Band (I think xD). Since the new DC is avaliable only for Xbox One (same for Fantasia), if Rock Band will be avaliable only for The Xbox One, will C3 do some converts?

Because It’s very annoying buying new hardware…

The only good news for Rock Band to be taken from the Dance Central announcement is that songs bought previously on the Xbox360 will be available to the user in the new game on the new console, which is a huge piece of news.

If the question is: will C3 pirate new content to make it available as a custom on Rock Band 3, the answer is “are you serious?”. Also, barring any modification of the Xbox One that allows unsigned DLC to be loaded (a-la JTAG for the Xbox 360), it’s safe to say that a new Rock Band iteration will not allow any custom to be used (remember we’re exploiting a backdoor that the last title update for Rock Band 3 has closed because people were pirating official DLC).

Fantasia: Music Evolved is Coming to Xbox360 AND Xbox One.

I think the Question RedDevil is Asking. IF Rockband 4 Come to XBOX One / PS4 then would C3 Convert the DLC which is a No no beacause C3 Always ask members to fully support Rockband and Harmonix as i do and so many here.

And on the Subject of a chance of a RockBand Game… id say 0% Beacause

      1. The Licences on Rockband 1 and 2 DLC are with MTV and as we see Content is Being Removed monthly.

      2. Xbox One does not support Xbox360 Hardware. (so they would have to re-invest in Plastic Instuments..) and chances if it did come it would be a downloadable title.

      3. As much as Rockband and Harmonix are very close to my heart, the community and Support for the game just aint there. you know it and i know it.

and honestly, the solution we have now is much better than old rock band ever used to be. we’re not at the mercy of record labels only allowing “B” and “C” tier songs for licensing. we get major, big names bands, top songs we could never have hoped for back in the day. plus, like 20+ song s a week are released between official C3 releases and other authors. it’s nuts, and it’s awesome.

Yeah I kind of agree with you. We are getting songs that would probably never have come to rock band, and can even create our own songs for the game with some effort. My only wish is that we could somehow mod the game itself to fix/add features <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” /> Maybe we could convince HMX to make it open source…

Never gonna happen but +1 to that

In my honest opinion, I don’t care if they released another Rock Band game or not. I feel that RB3 is enough for me, due to customs and such…

I doubt any new Rock Band will ever be released outside of maybe another RB: Blitz, and that wasn’t a big hit so…

The interest in rhythm based games like Rock Band as a whole isn’t really there anymore. It was worn out. I suppose its better to burn out than fade away in some cases. With how things were going, Activision would have turned Guitar Hero into a multi genre franchise and made it into the CoD of music games… it was already headed that way with each new installment being barely an update graphically, and with somewhat decent though cash grabby titles like DJ Hero oversaturating things, this genre was doomed to fail at some point.

Harmonix were guilty too. The Lego Rock band game, while good, was clearly a cash grab aimed at kids, as well as capitalizing on the fact that rhythm games and Lego games were at the height of their popularity at the time. Not to mention Rock Band Blitz having literally almost nothing to do with the actual Rock Band series other than the name and some similarities in colors.

Anyhow, the genre was clearly becoming a ridiculous monster.

Rock Band, while it was going at a far more reasonable and steady pace in terms of upping the anti every game, was also headed towards a brick wall. Aside of more music, what exactly can you do to make a game like this new and exciting again? There’s a reason why Harmonix didn’t take on the task of doing RB4. They probably ran out of ideas. Unlike a company like Activision, Harmonix brought money in through DLC songs, which would have been a good idea for Guitar Hero to do as well, rather than milking it with new installments every five minutes.

Then again, I think if Activision hadn’t been releasing so many games so often… this amazing C3 thing would likely not exist. So the idea that a game like Rock Band 4 will never happen is both a blessing and a curse. I don’t think a lot of us realize the repercussions that Rock Band 4 would bring to a site like C3. It would likely end this site considering that we can get songs that Harmonix would likely never be able to (all the Led Zeppelin songs, for example, would never officially make it to RB4 in all likeliness), and despite not meaning to, the site would be causing RB3 to compete with its own sequel through unofficial DLC that’s being provided here.

The formula for Rock Band is practically perfect already in many ways, but that’s the problem. It was already perfected by the time Rock Band 2 was released if you ask me. The only thing that they needed to add was harmonies, keys, and dual guitars, and really, considering how things get crowded input wise already with all instruments mode on… err.

I’m sure there was consideration for a dual guitar thing, but it just didn’t happen because you can only have so many instruments hooked up at once because of the consoles’ limitations. Plus, thats another instrument to chart. You’d need to chart both the lead and rhythm parts if they had added dual guitar support to the game.

Being totally realistic, I don’t think there’s a good reason for another Rock Band or Guitar Hero game at all these days. The demand isn’t there, the licenses aren’t going to get any easier to get for a new game, and gameplay wise, there’s very little they could possibly add that hasn’t been done yet. Plus, the idea of having to get new instruments to play the game on next gen systems would turn a lot of people off to the game right off the bat. It’s quite a lot of money to drop over $200 just to play one game, and considering that they’d likely cost even more than $200 on next gen systems, most people in a limited income situation would look once and decide not to bother, as there are a lot of games that will be coming soon that people will want too.

It’s just not logical for them to come out with RB4, at least not now. I wouldn’t completely write it off, but the odds are incredibly slim.

I can’t stop imagining how amazing a Oculus Rift or Sony Morpheus Rock Band would be. Where I wish we’d get a new disc full of songs and imagery so much I’d kill for my fantasy of the VR Rock Band.
