how do you do that ?
Everything you need is on in the Authoring tools thread. The only thing missing is Magma, but a virtual machine should suffice.

Sure. Anything else? Coffee? A muffin maybe?
All tutorials we published work for both systems: Reaper is the same on Mac as it is on Windows, including all of its plugins. It’s a matter of *wanting* to do it, not of being on a Mac, and that’s a question you need to ask yourself, not us.

yeah funny, its easy for you guys you’ve been doing it for ages, someone like me who doesn’t know the first thing about it will find it tricky like riding a bike or driving a car its only easy when you know how, never the less ill follow your tutorial see where i end up, i know its about wanting to do it, believe me i want to do it, but I’ve never had the patience to read loads of instructions before i normally just wing it and see how i get on
January 6, 2015 at 5:26 pm #435749All im saying Echofreak, is if you Contribute towards a song (no matter how little) it will increase the chance of it appearing.
Also views on Ducktales are people cool with Bass and Keys only or do people want Sax/Trumpet on guitar as well? and would anyone want vocals i can try but i need interest.
January 6, 2015 at 7:05 pm #435751All im saying Echofreak, is if you Contribute towards a song (no matter how little) it will increase the chance of it appearing. Its Eco not Echo which is playstation talk for life energy of the world, and I’m not saying i don’t want to contribute, i do i just want more understanding on the process thats all, i didn’t know about any of this before feburary last year this is still so new to me regardless of what i know already, it took me a while to set up two sticks one for custom and one for normal/harmony upgrades then it took me some real trial and error before i perfected a way to upgrade harmonies without erasing my game data accidentally
so for me someone who’s never programmed anything before this is huge for me i took a whole hour and half to read the info on authoring today and i just had to stop i couldn’t continue much further for that minute its too much to understand and process sometimes, i really want to know how you guys do it really i do, its not simple for someone starting out you know that, once i understand the process i know il be fine but at this very second i don’t understand the process

How about you have a start here. This should give you some ground work to go off of.
The complete C3 tutorial for new authors
To answer some of your questions in the simplest terms, since I’m not an author, here is what I know.
Reaper – This is a music creating program. otherwise known as a DAW (Digital Audio Workshop). This is what is used to place the notes that you will hit in Rockband.
Magma – This is used to compile the song when you’re all done with it. You would run your files through this program, and it would give you a file you can put into Rockband.

Ok i get that but what do i use instead of reaper for mac? can you just throw in any song into a reaper type program and get going or does it need to be a midi file …. basically i don’t know if you need to do something before that ?
so say i wanted to start off on a tv theme tune from scratch cos they’re short and only like 60 seconds / a minute say goosebumps or Vr troopers for example do i just take the mp3s of them throw into Reaper or something like it, chart by ear and then when finished throw into magma to make it a con and bobs your uncle fannys your aunt ready to be put through buffalo for your xbox ?……. also i read that theres this CAT EMH thing that sorta does the lower difficulties for you with one tick of a box etc

Import audio, chart song, export song, build package, get on Xbox, test, fix, test, fix, test, fix, test, fix, release. Don’t be like some people and just throw your song up because it made it through Magma. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif”>
You need to be a self-starter and willing to experiment — generally speaking, the authors that have the ability and experience to hand-hold and walk someone through the process do not have the time to do it, but they will answer questions or help with troubleshooting if you can demonstrate that you’ve tried to work through it and have read the docs/searched the forum.
