Please elaborate on what we’re trying to fix. Is it not compiling in Magma? I don’t know what to look for unless you tell me what I’m looking for ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
Also, if it is spitting out errors in Magma, maybe copy/paste the error report here so that we have a reference of where to look.

Welcome to MIDI Tester 1.0
This program is intended to quickly let you test MIDI after MIDI for compliance with RBN2.0 standards.
All you have to do is drag the MIDI file(s) here. This program will read through it, and create an adequate test project. MagmaCompiler is then called to process the MIDI for RBN2.0 compliance without actually compiling the song (so no time wasted compiling the audio).
You can do back-to-back MIDIs without having to close this form.
Ready to begin….
Loaded MIDI file Custom RB3 Template BON 1.mid successfully.
Nemo’s MIDI AutoGen process started at 19-11-2013 5:54:26
Nemo’s MIDI AutoGen process completed at 19-11-2013 5:54:26
Starting Basic EMH Check
MIDI passed Basic EMH Check without reporting any problems
This means the charts most likely have reductions charted
Ready to send files to MagmaCompiler…hold on.
Output from MagmaCompiler follows:
MIDI Compiler: Starting…
INTERNAL ERROR: MIDI Compiler: Could not load song metadata; MIDI compilation cannot proceed
MagmaCompiler reported some errors. Please see the log for details on what must be fixed.
Process completed in 0 minutes and 0 seconds.
You may drag another MIDI or just click Close to exit.
thanks for the help! ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />
November 19, 2013 at 9:52 am #409403I assumed you were using the Compile option. It actually helps point out where the problem is when you select “Build” at the bottom of the window as opposed to using the MIDI tester, as it tells you where the problem is by marking it with a measure stamp.
November 19, 2013 at 12:22 pm #409407But that’s precisely what MIDI Tester is intended to do Gigakoops. Give you the same feedback you get when compiling a song without the need to set up a project.
I’ll take a look at the file today and see why it’s not working correctly. That error message is telling you something is wrong with the temporary rbproj file that MIDI Tester creates based on the contents of the MIDI file.
November 19, 2013 at 3:52 pm #409413What am I doing wrong?Is this a joke?
Your MIDI file only has EVENTS, VENUE and BEAT tracks. There are no charts in the MIDI.
What the heck were you expecting MIDI Tester to check for you?

How did that happen?
The song has all difficulties and all instruments, except pro keys
This is de Original song: song.rar
The song was charted with EOF and Feedback ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />
November 20, 2013 at 1:58 pm #409461I guess the same thing that happened now.
The midi you just linked is a straight Phase Shift file, with no editing whatsoever for Rock Band. You’re missing the BEAT track and MagmaCompiler is reporting that you’re missing the EVENTS track, even though MIDI Cleaner sees it (and fixes it because it’s NOT even close to RB standards), so maybe you have the track name as a text event instead of track name event.
All the notes are too short for our purposes, so MIDI Cleaner had over 11,000 notes that it fixed due to a duration that was too short.
Asking for help is for when you’ve done enough work on your end. This is a completely unedited Phase Shift midi. Do not waste our time.

oh! ok…
thanks anyway
November 20, 2013 at 6:33 pm #409467A step in the right direction would be to load the chart up in EOF, enable the user preference to save Rock Band files and then save the project. It will save a notes_rbn MIDI file that has some of the barebones required text events, and will create the BEAT track for you. If you can get the original EOF project file, it’s better to open that instead of import the notes.mid file since you can lose up to .5ms of accuracy as all notes will be rounded to the nearest millisecond when a MIDI is imported.
November 20, 2013 at 6:40 pm #409468will create the BEAT track for youyou know, a lot of FoF/GH midis don’t have it…i think you gave me a good idea to have MIDI Cleaner also create one if the MIDI is missing it.

I’m trying to convert the songs I’ve charted. and I’ve had trouble like this, which may be considered a waste of time for someone ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />
November 20, 2013 at 10:01 pm #409482Pro tip: Use less EoF and go to Reaper as soon as you can with Rock Band charting, and just use EoF for Phase Shift and other special features. It’s gonna be tricky at first to get used to (there are some guides on the forums here to help you out) but once you have gotten the hang of it, it’s the best way to do Rock Band charts.
No disrespect towards EoF though, it have it’s good uses, especially for Phase Shift as mentioned.
