Hi, everyone. I have an issue and was hoping someone could help me figure it out. Basically, I’ve hit the limit of songs in the game and I’m in the process of trying to ween some songs out. Since the C3 Con Tools RB-to-USB function doesn’t load properly anymore (it starts loading the songs but then stops, even though the program won’t stop running, so you have to force end it from Task Manager), I now just go into my USB stick and load/delete things manually. The problem is that most of the file names are impossible to tell what the song names are, so as I figured out what they were, I renamed the files. Now I know exactly what songs are which, but the real problem is that only half the songs loaded into the game. I know it was something about renaming the files that caused it.
It might sound like a dumb question but, are you able to rename the files at all, or does doing that make the game not recognize it? Some of the ones I renamed did show up in the game, but at least half of my grand total did not (only 1340 of 2500 showed up). Or is there a certain way you have to rename it? Any help at all would be appreciated, as I’m just trying to sort everything out easily so I know what to keep. Hopefully I don’t have to redownload everything because of the renaming.
Thank you, everybody.
rb to usb works for me. dl the newest con tools. other option is to open visualizer drop a song in if you wonder what it is and just rename it drop it back in manually.i do it all the time
Thanks, I’ll give it a shot. But would you know why the game wouldn’t read half of the songs after most of them were renamed?
Try using the “Batch Renamer” in Contools for renaming files.
You probably need to delete your cache as well and let it rebuild.

The issue you might be encountering is that the Xbox file system doesn’t like spaces and certain characters. So if you renamed the song name without taking into account the Xbox file system limitations the Xbox just isn’t seeing the song to load it. Use Batch Renamer as Spindoctor recommended.

You hit the nail right on the head. Batch Renamer was the solution; it fixed everything within a couple minutes. I appreciate the help from you guys.
