Playback in Reaper is Very Slow

Whenever I hit play to preview the project (with or without the RBN plugin up), playback is very slow. It appears to be playing about .015 seconds per second of real time. I don’t understand why it is doing this. The playback sliders are all at default and even messing with the playback rate to 4x it is still incredibly slow. Anybody know what I am missing here?
