I’m able to get my song with just pro drums and vocals to show up the game. Thank you C3! However, the pro upgrade file only shows up in the system dashboard. Deleted song cache, song IDs are the same, built the _plus in RB3Maker and also in LeFluffieforRB3, resigned it too. I checked out some other pro-upgrades and set it up the dat file and folders same way manually in LeFluffieforRB3. I think I have tried everything.
Here are my files, I am forever in your debt if you can explain where I went wrong.
June 9, 2013 at 3:32 pm #400942Song ID in your songs.dta file: (‘song_id’ Departure)
Song ID in your upgrades.dta file: (song_id 45410914)
The latter is the game ID for RB3 — your song_id values should be the same in both files, as that is what is used by the game to pair up your upgrade to your original song. Change the upgrades.dta value to Departure and you should be in business (though my recommendation is to put a prefix just to avoid potential collisions, say using ‘jer_departure’ for both).

Thank you espher! You are so right!
I was going by the Song ID that pops in LeFluffieforRB3 then pasted it in to the upgrade.dat.
I will describe how I fixed it for the form archives.
First I tried extracting the two files in LeFluffieforRB3 changed the songs IDs then replaced the files. That didn’t work. I did so much repackaging trying to fix this any ways, I wanted these steps to be repeatable.
So I went back one step…
1) Build new rba file from Magma,
2) Open RBA folder in RB3Maker. Asked for a Prefix, Last time I didn’t know what this was and skipped it now I entered something.
3) Checked out new _extract folder, copied the song ID from the songs.dta file. Pasted ID into the upgrades.dta file
4) Pro Guitar/Bass in RB3Maker
5) Moved the two new packages (rbacon & _plus) to the LeFluffieForRB3 input folder
6) Select Packager in LeFluffieForRB3, filled in the fields and hit Begin.
7) USBXTAFGUI_v44 inject the new Pack_ file
9) So many things I need to change in my charting. lol
PS I’m deleting the download link, will it post somewhere else when final draft is done.

If there is a Harmonix release you’d like to chart, we can look into releasing it via RB:HP. I have no way to test/validate the quality of the charts since I don’t have a pro guitar or the savvy to gauge it accurately from .mid track, so I’d like to get a second opinion before I push them out the door, but I’m more than willing to entertain any track you feel like authoring.
For C3 releases, I’ll be sure to let the authors know. Very little of the stuff I’m looking at authoring stands to benefit from pro guitar so my personal interest may not quite be there. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

June 10, 2013 at 8:24 pm #401081I’m starting to get into the pro upgrade game using Ziggy’s software from guitargamestuff.com. I’d love to know how Jerry is importing tabs! please let me know. He also hosts a pack of nearly 200 pro upgrades over there that i wish more people knew about…
shout out to columbo777 who has been awesome in helping me starting out!
June 10, 2013 at 10:47 pm #401092I’d love to know how Jerry is importing tabs! And I would love to show you how!
I never used Ziggy’s software, I use Editor on Fire (EoF). I’m pretty sure they do the same thing.
EoF has a feature that can be use to import .gp5 files (Guitar Pro 5) tabs into the guitar and bass tracks.
I can go into how to use that software, but the help function in the program does a way better job explaining pro charting than I can.

https://code.google.com/p/editor-on-fire/
2) After the charting, get the program you are working with to output a .mid file and a sound file
3) Obtain the con file of the song you are going to apply the upgrade to (or make your own), and drop it into LeFluffieForRB3, select Extract Package, Grab the .mid file.
4) Open the Custom RB3 Template.RPP in Reaper, then insert the main song’s .mid, sound file, then the pro .mid file. When inserting the pro .mid file, don’t let it merge the beat map.
5) Proof read it against the documentation at http://pksage.com/rbndocs/
6) Export project MIDI
7) Open the MagmaC3 and fill all the blanks. Then click build.
Start a new thread with the MagmaC3 errors you can’t correct. lol
9) Inject per the instructions in the YouTube video at
June 11, 2013 at 1:37 am #401101Thanks Jerry!
Looks like i’ve got more research to do!
I understood most of what you posted except:
2) After that get a program it to produce a .mid and the sound file.
Doesn’t the EOF software produce the .mid? (the ziggy counterpart does anyway). And what is the “sound file” you speak of? Is that mp3 of the song itself? Is it the mogg? (which is encrypted and can’t be played outside of the game from what i can tell).
Also I haven’t used guitar pro 5. From clicking around on ultimateguitar.com it appears to be a subscription service. If that is the case how do you get the .gp5 files themselves for import? (sorry for noobyness here)
Thanks again for your help
June 11, 2013 at 2:52 am #401105You’re right that statement doesn’t make any sense. I’ll update it, lol
What I meant is you get the program you are working with to output a .mid file and a sound file. The .mid will have your notes on tracks and a beat map. You want to use (but don’t have too) the sound file the program uses just in case it added a leading silence or something. (EoF outputs a .ogg file.) It’s not a big deal, you will just have to line up the first beat again when it goes into Reaper.
When you get to Step 7 you will find out that MagmaC3 needs all song files in wav format. But don’t worry about that till you get there, because Reaper can easily render those files.
There are a lot of tab sites on the internet. Since March 2011 have been playing guitar and I have notice they all have the same library of tabs. They all copy from each other. I got Guitar Pro 6 some time ago and then downloaded a torrent containing over 50,000 tabs. If you or any one else can’t find a tab PM me a request.
The site I would recommend is http://www.911tabs.com
Search there and it gives you the links to the other tabs sites that have the song. Its like searching all the tab sites at once.
June 11, 2013 at 5:11 pm #401135In Guitar Pro
With your tab you will need to condense all the guitar tracks down to two guitar tracks. ie lead & bass or lead & rhythm ect. Because the game only supports two pro guitar tracks per upgrade. Then export the tab to gp5.
June 14, 2013 at 6:23 pm #401382Something I’ve been working on recently is support for importing “Go PlayAlong” projects. Basically Go PlayAlong is a program where you sync a guitar pro file to audio. Unfortunately the trial version is very limited and stores all your work on an internal database, so you have to buy that program to be able to export the synchronization information at all. One of the features of Go PlayAlong is creating “mixed” guitar arrangements, where you define which track in the Guitar Pro file to change to at any given measure, so you can have it refer to the rhythm guitar track for much of the arrangement, and switch to a lead guitar track for a solo, and then back to rhythm.
