Hi at all! I tried to open GHtoRB3’s moggs with Audacity with no problems, but CCC’s ones cannot be opened. Why?

They are encrypted. On purpose.
So, do you know the RB3 encryption or all is thanks to the Magma tool?
Seriously, that is for us to know and nobody else to find out. How’s that for an answer ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

No, to the first part.
I still stand by my first response, just because we share some tools and knowledge doesn’t mean we share all the tools at our disposal or all our knowledge.
But I’m going to add to what espher said: no, we don’t know RB3’s encryption, and I’ll go as far as saying that nobody knows outside of the few Harmonix employees that do. I say that confidently because after all I’ve done, I’m pretty sure I’m one the top 5 people in the community who do understand what’s going on behind the scenes and I only understand enough to know that we don’t have it and never will.
Yep, admin (and former admin) solidarity on this one. Our MOGGs are encrypted to protect the audio within, especially the multitrack audio. Please do not talk about cracking that decryption on these forums; offenders will be banned. C3 always has and always will encourage people to buy the MP3s of songs they like from our releases.
Locking this topic, since all that needs to be said has been said.
Oh, almost forgot: Don’t talk about breaking Harmonix encryption on these forums either, since 1) most DLC is still available and you should buy it, 2) even when the DLC store goes down they might use that encryption on future projects, 3) because we said so.
You are about to leave Rhythm Gaming World and access the external songs DB. Alright, we had to made you aware of this, now you can visit the database!
