Oh snap. Thank you so much for King Crimson. I was shocked when I saw that GHtoRB hadn’t gotten to it.

I just played the version of 21st Century Schizoid Man without the BRE on Pro Drums and wow it is literally impossible to keep a combo on that end. Thank you so much for this awesome custom! Been waiting forever to finally play it in Rock Band 3.

Just added New Born by Muse to the OP, which has pro keys and is also my first “real” vocal chart (would appreciate feedback on that from vocalists). Glad you guys enjoyed King Crimson. The next song is going to be more classic prog rock, though it may take a while to finish; it makes good use of the removed 10min limit of the C3 version of Magma.

      Oh my! NICE. Downloading now!

Also excited for the next song! I love that you love prog.

Impressive – your timing of slides is generally impeccable. Really an excellent outing. A bit literal here and there, but easy to fix. One little thing – you can chart at 1/64 instead of 1/128. Makes things a tad easier. No need to change this one – just bear in mind for future charts.

General: end your phrases earlier when you can, to give the player room for overdrive activations:

        21.4 instead of 22

        23.4 instead of 24

24.4.50 instead of 25 (eighth instead of quarter if you have to)

(throughout the rest of the song)

19: consider the use of [mellow] and [intense] in addition to just [play]

21.1.25 world – no slider here, just F#

        24.2.5 + 2/64- (that is, end 2/64 earlier)

        28.2.62 +(G)

        30.1.75 +(A)

        30.2.25 ter-(A) needs a +(G) at 30.2.62

        41.4.62 I wouldn’t chart this tiny vibrato C#

        44.1.87 young(F#)

        94.2.96 ble(A) 3/64- (that is, end 3/64 earlier)

        109.3.99 ditch this vibrato G#

        110.2.62 ery-© also: should be eve-ry-where

122.4 simplify this to just D

        123.3 ting(

149.2 just make the whole thing world(

        150.1 just link(, chop off(Bb), trim it(A), simplify to to(G) your-(F#) self(F#)

        152.3 just it(G)

        155.3 And 3/64-

        156.1.50 +(A)

156.3.90 +(G#) just chop this off

158.4.87 +(Bb) just chop this off, simplify side to just (

        161.3.25 simplify to just the(

        178.3 should be eve-ry-where

        183.3 me(F#) +(G) +(F#)

        186.3.25 simplify to chance(Eb)

220.3 I don’t hear any of this vocal outro – just some fuzzy effects. I’d go with a spooky silhouette in the venue and just don’t chart it. Maybe you could chart it to keys, but the keys player has probably nodded off to sleep in the 4 minutes of not playing.

Any reason you’re not pushing for this to be a C3 release? A quick look at the other instruments showed this was pretty outstanding work. You’d have no trouble running it through the gauntlet.

Thanks! Your vocal charting tutorial was really useful for making it.

A lot of the time I thought I heard short little pitch slides and didn’t know if I should simplify it. As for the outro, it seems like vocals that were distorted to somewhat mimic the keys from the intro. I did notice that it was a lot less audible in-game than it was in Reaper. I’ll keep your advice in mind for later songs.

As for a C3 release, I wasn’t really sure if it was that good and either way I didn’t know if I should contact by e-mail, PM, or whatever. I’d love to contribute songs to C3, though. If I were to submit a song, could other authors help with Pro Keys?

Depending on the song, pro keys are not compulsory, but you may also find someone to help you, yes. If you want to release through C3, message an admin about that.

The Muse song at least was extraordinary. I haven’t had so much fun letting a vocal performance rip in a very long time. Really an outstanding vocal chart. Everything else looked spot on.

Looking forward to your C3 releases!!
