In an attempt to diagnose where I am going so wrong.. I am listing all the steps I have done in as much detail as possible so you Eagle eyed authors out there can see the error of my ways.
So, I have my Audio WAV file. I import this and set to 3.1 start.
I create the tempo map, author the drum part.
I run CAT and reduce/generate the Easy/Medium/Hard drum parts.
I mute EVERY single track down the left hand side and Render – mvon_mute.WAV
I unmute only AUDIO and the COUNTIN track- mvon_main.WAV
I highlight the EVENTS, VENUE, BEAT and DRUMS Tracks and EXPORT MIDI in accordance with the Reaper default settings – mvon.MID
In Magma v3. I set the titles, author, picture etc.
Audio/DRUM defaults to Kit – (which as above states, as I am not Multitrack audio) – I accept and add file path to mvon_main.wav
I untick GUITAR/BASS/VOCALS because I have not completed any of these tracks and these were not exported in the MID file , (should these be ticked and use one of the MAGMA supplied silence files?)
Audio/BACKING I add file path to mvon_main.wav
GameData/Midi – I add file path to mvon.MID
Magma Test :passes fine.
Magma v3 Compile : passes fine.
RB3con transferred to HD on XBOX, Song cache : song doesn’t appear on Rockband…….
(Trojan Nemo : apologies for adding to another thread but felt this would be the right place for it, mindful of your earlier comments….)
Hope someone can help. I am tearing my hair out..
October 9, 2014 at 6:40 pm #430787Post the CON so we can download it and take a look.
October 9, 2014 at 7:12 pm #430789Post the CON so we can download it and take a look. And try and keep everything in one thread – there’s no reason to create a new thread every step along the way.

Post the con…. OK.. how do I do that.. there is no file attachment feature on this board… or is this a Chrome issue????
I can see in the Toolbar above.. Insert Image/ Inset URL.. but no add attachment….

No. Nemo very clearly and specifically told you to stop making threads asking for help with problems with Magma. And that instead you should post problems in the existing threads for the tools. You went on to do whatever you wanted.

Sorry…?
This I have done by posting in this thread titled “Custom Song Troubleshooting & Support” which to my mind
is the correct thread as this appears to be an authoring issue …if this is not what you wanted apologies but respectfully, perhaps the clarity of your request was lost on me. I will post no further threads than here from now on.
==========================
From other postings I see files need to be shared on so here is my link for file download.. if anyone can help… thank you.
October 10, 2014 at 1:12 pm #430829Thanks to a previous post by TheBrownOneJT that got me thinking along the right lines, i appear to have sorted this ‘problem’ if any are interested.
As Colonel32dll had also pre-empted – there was likely nothing wrong with the song file .. sure enough there wasnt…
Using TrjoanNemos C3 CON tool set to build a ‘song pack’, I gathered all the C3 customs I have and lumped into a single song file. Uploaded to the XBOX in the usual manner and ‘…as if by magic…. ‘ the file (not the shopkeeper! ala Mr Benn : British ’80s TV show), appeared.
Why this makes any difference I couldnt guess, but I am now happy and evidently I need to go back to Reaper to address some poorly synched drum rhythms..!

“Custom Song Troubleshooting & Support” is the name of the subforum, this “OK, so where’s the bl*ody file..?!” thread is the thread. Making new threads in a subforum makes it cluttered after a while and it helps nobody to have a million different threads about what is essentially a continuation of the same problem
October 10, 2014 at 9:29 pm #430894“Continuation of the same problem ” – you are speaking in riddles..
I have to create a ‘thread’ to get a problem aired. I have been advised threads have to be posted in the correct place. Forgive me, but I figured this issue was to do with my issues in authoring custom songs hence the ‘subforum’ title “Custom Song Troubleshooting & Support” , and the posting of this thread.
I make no claims to be an expert here and am simply trying to make progress but I get the feeling that people with considerable experience are trying to score points highlighting their expertise on this forum against those with far less.
I was first drawn to this site by the forum and the postings of many that seem to have had their problems resolved reasonably quickly, give people a fair chance to explore this experience without the ‘put-downs’, you might feel it is clever and something to shout about scoring points – but for novices it is quite off putting and for a forum that I initially didn’t think was ‘Elitest’ appears to be proving otherwise….
October 10, 2014 at 9:33 pm #430895We are speaking in perfectly clear English and I am simply stating that you are missunderstanding the difference between a subforum and a thread, and that we are asking you to not make a new thread for each new issue that occur in your authoring process when it’s all part of the same problem from the looks of it, just in different stages and versions due to the progress you have made so far. That is not even remotely near the dictionary definition of a elitist last time I checked
October 10, 2014 at 11:39 pm #430898(..how deserving of your name..)
You have taken my reference to Elitism out of context. But I cannot be bothered to argue further as I am sure whatever my response to you, you are sure to have a better one to substantiate your standing here thus confirming my earlier comments about Elitism.

October 11, 2014 at 12:42 am #430901Guido, to simplify things: until you have reached a stage in which your errors are few and well defined and have no answer in this forum, just stick to this thread. Once you have compiled your songs, made them work, etc. and your errors are not anymore in the “still learning the basics” category, you can open new threads. For now, use this one for problems you are encountering.
October 11, 2014 at 11:59 am #430922Farottone – at last, clarity. Thank you!
Noted, I will be sure to do so as advised.
All is good I have recompiled and run my song – a few tweaks are required to my drum track and then onto … perhaps Guitar…?
Will have to re-watch ‘pksages’ video again – figure this is going to be trickier than the drum track….
