Rory Erikson should be Roky Erikson in the blog. Some spooky content this year. Thanks
October 31, 2014 at 1:31 am #431896Awesome, a thursday release. Mostly cool picks too. “This Night of Ours” sounds pretty good… to bad it’s about ponies…Exactly my stance on SLENDERMANE which sounds awesome but is about ponies (and Slender Man-pony hybrid).
Why we didn’t get Five Nights At Freddy’s surprises me, as it would fit well with the N.N. pack, because the artist just happens to be a brony (a group of people I usually tend to hate). Nature Trail To Hell is probably something a lot of people like. Please tell me i’m not the only one here who likes that song.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe nobody who is a C3 author likes certain songs enough to be motivated enough to author them? Personally I never cared much for Living Tombstone’s work and the only songs I like by him are ones where he is simply a background producer (Beyond Her Tomb etc.) as I find his work to work much better as beats for other people to be creative over than songs by themselves (that of course just being my own personal opinion on his work and no hating intended towards him or any of his fans). I also don’t particularly care for modern horror games, to me horror is supposed to be stuff like Silent Hill, where it is still played like a action game but made in such a way to make you fear every enemy encounter, rather than it being a walking/looking simulator with random jumpscares thrown in (but again, that is just me) so I had no interest in authoring a song about that game as it doesn’t appeal to my tastes either
While I am not a huge fan of the Slenderman mythos or games either, I do really dig Breakbeat songs, and seeing how this chart already existed I thought this was a good occasion to update it, separating the Bass and Keys into their own parts, adding in some missing parts on Drums, spicing up the venue with more camera cuts, etc. and seeing how I was already planing to update the Pinkie Guy songs to begin with eventually, I felt it was a good idea to combine that effort into a pack
Now, you not liking Slendermane is completely fine just to have that stated, this pack is all about the variety and to appeal to as many different Halloween parties as possible within the limits of what we are able and willing to chart within the time limit and theme limitations. However, we are not going to chart something unless we feel we really want to ourselves and have the time to do so, hence why we can’t appeal to absolutely everyone no matter how much we wish we could. Nature Trail To Hell might work well in game, but it would take a good while to chart it, and nobody had the time or motivation to set off all their charting time to work on that in between the rest of the songs, Genesis Chronicles and other projects we are working on, hence why we are encouraging people to try and learn to chart stuff themselves so they can start getting more songs they will enjoy themselves
I hope this clarifies the situation a bit, and that you will regardless of your disappointment in the pack have a happy Halloween
also people in glass houses regarding the whole “lol you watch something with oddly colored anthropomorphic animals in it” thing, just sayin’

My own entry to this year’s pack was last-minute enough as it is, probably wouldn’t have even happened if the charts hadn’t been done for over a year.
Maybe next year?
I also wouldn’t have put it in the NN pack if I released it this year. Brony artist does not always = brony song. At least one of my upcoming releases will be a good example of that.
October 31, 2014 at 5:04 am #431901Hi there!
I was wondering when Phase Shift versions of the songcharts would be available? I’ve tried using the C3CONtools to convert but unfortunately the .mogg is encrypted on all the C3 songs.
Thanks!

It usually takes a day or two for Phase Shift ports to happen, since our Phase Shift guys work independently.

October 31, 2014 at 3:15 pm #431917Halloween stimulates unnecessary “where’s my free stuff” comments…
October 31, 2014 at 3:25 pm #431919Nice week! Picking up 3 tracks for sure (Halloween Theme, This Is Halloween, Somebody’s Watching Me) for our Halloween party.
Thanks as always, C3!
October 31, 2014 at 4:15 pm #431922Anonymous“This is Halloween” has been released. I am happy.
~Edit~
Oh hey. “Spooky Scary Skeletons”. I recently just heard that song (someone was playing it through their mic while playing Team Fortress 2 on an Halloween map. Their username was Spooky Scary Skeletons too).
October 31, 2014 at 5:16 pm #431924Why we didn’t get Five Nights At Freddy’s surprises meI don’t want to say anything definitive, but I think C3 at large would prefer that game to not exist. When I revealed I had used interpretations of those animatronics in at least four of my videos, they just kinda groaned.
Of course, the fact I’m using basically the same Halloween set-up as last year should tell you that sometimes it’s hard to come up with good ideas anyway. Alas, Rock Band 3 and its wardrobe are getting long in the tooth.
October 31, 2014 at 7:05 pm #431929Someone’s been watching montage parodies. Quick! Someone post it to that subreddit and make it a montage.
October 31, 2014 at 10:16 pm #431935i had forgotten about this is halloween marylin version. my son used to love it when he was 5. it will bring back memories.

I honestly can’t remember if Slendermane was made before or after Slendermane’s appearance in the cartoon. (Yes Slendermane is a canon character in MLP. S/he appeared in the background for a few seconds in one episode). So… I don’t know for sure if the Slendermane song was made because of the show or because of the fandom’s wish to ponify everything (which gets annoying, in my opinion).
As for Five Nights at Freddy’s… The song is good and alright. (Which is rare cause I honestly don’t like The Living Tombstone that much at all… Then again, probably because I’m more into rock and metal music, not electronic and remix music. And the only rock song I’ve seen TLT did ended up being quite poor in my opinion). But anyways. I wouldn’t mind having this song on RB3 but at the same time, am not bothered with it NOT being on RB3.
Also, gotta note that Five Nights at Freddy’s is a horror song, not a Halloween song (Yes, there is a difference). Which means Five Nights at Freddy’s can easily be released at any week, not just Halloween week… So don’t be surprise to eventually see it being released later this year or possibly next year.
In other words… I am quite sad to NOT see “Nightmare Night” released. I really was hoping for that metal song to make it this year. I know it wasn’t released last year because it was RELEASED last year (It’s hard to chart a song for Halloween 2013 when it was released on Halloween day 2013, after-all… Unless you friends with the musician and had access to the audio files the whole entire time he was working on it). Oh well… Maybe next year?
October 31, 2014 at 11:11 pm #431937Use this thread to provide feedback on any of the following songs:
New! Halloween 2014
2 Ls 2 Ts – “Ambient Stalactite Boogie” M (Arcanon)
u won’t know the song but it has nice vibes, and fits perfectly with the theme of haloween
Andrew Gold – “Spooky, Scary Skeletons” (BearzUnlimited)
My Pick of the Week
John Carpenter – “Halloween Theme” (Nightmare Lyra)
Bit of a “play at haloween only” but after i played its solid and a lot of fun on keys
Marilyn Manson – “This Is Halloween” (Nightmare Lyra and GreenPanda12)
I don’t know this version so its a miss.
Rockwell – “Somebody’s Watching Me (ft. Michael Jackson)” (Nightmare Lyra)
Good choice defo need more Rockwell in rockband
Rory Erickson and the Aliens – “Night of the Vampire” (Nightmare Lyra)
I didn’t know it yet i know the tune when i play it, defo a keeper
Skrillex – “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” (Gigakoops)
Sorry not for me
The Specials – “Ghost Town” (EdTanguy and Nightmare Lyra)
Great tune, and one that i think Harmonix could have gotten down the line.
Zombina and the Skeletones – “Nobody Likes You (When You’re Dead)” (Gigakoops and GandWuser)
another one of those ones ive not heard of, but i enjoyed playing it.
I didn’t get any of the others, ive not interest in silent hill, and i don’t know the others (sorry)
