Sweet, Default! Thanks ws54! I always wondered why they never got into Rock Band and will be picking those up for sure. Perfect song choices too! Once again, good variety of songs/bands this week.
Hello. I provided Nightmare with my Silent Hill chart that I did first on my customs thread, and it was pretty much left in tact for that song; with the addition of keys, So if I could get an author credit on that one, it would be awesome, as 3 of the 4 charts were pretty much left intact. And as well as possibly a link to my thread where all my other video customs are in the main blog post, that would be swell. I don’t remember seeing anyone doing video game song customs in this capacity until I really started doing it with the volume I do it in, I think a mention on where to go to get more wouldn’t be too ridiculous to ask

I’ll talk about this in public rather than PM for transparency’s sake. Before I say anything else, I want to point out that you were (and are) credited in the same place we’ve been crediting “secondary” authors — below the download link in the visualizer.
The question here is what defines a “secondary” author. Traditionally, we give “primary” credit — the name(s) listed at the top of the blog post and in the DB — to authors that were directly involved in the C3 part of the process. This means playtesting, reductions, and all of the other stuff that makes a song meet our standards. Most of the time, a secondary author is someone who did an X-only chart for a single instrument, and it was adapted into a full song. In those instances, I intend to continue the current method of attribution.
In this case, though, you did an absolute shitload of the work for this song. I’m prepared to attribute it to “mrmet2087 and Nightmare Lyre” if NL is OK with that. This part of the conversation should move to PM or Skype, so I’ll talk to you guys about it there.
Attribution is tricky, and if I say “we” did something, that’s kind of a misnomer. This isn’t on Nemo or farottone or anyone else — if something’s wrong on the blog or the DB, it’s on me. I apologize to anyone else who feels they haven’t gotten enough credit, and I hope we can make it right.
As for the link, though, that’s not something we do in quite the way you’re describing. We’d resurrect the now-ancient “Community Spotlight” feature and link to your thread with a one- or two-sentence blurb about it. Which…actually is pretty much what you describe.
Would you like that to be retroactively added to this blog post, or added fresh to next week’s blog post?

I hadn’t recognized any of the Default songs by name, but “Wasting My Time” hit me with a “Ooooh that song” moment, and the others sound fine as well. Really love that we now have all of Jagged Little Pill, it’s one of my favorite 90’s albums. And of course, gotta love the video game tracks.

Either way is fine really about the blogpost, I just figured given how there was a few video game based stuff this week, that this would have been a good week to mention where else people can find a ton of other video game related customs (all though I’m sure everyone’s seen my thread by now). If you’d like to to add it to this one that’s cool, or next week is fine either way. This week may seem more appropriate though because the content was inspired by my original stuff, and in the case of silent hill was mostly my charts, at least according to what Nightmare said to me a while back when asked how much different his were then my originals.Well the Drums are 100% yours for Expert, but the other instruments have a lot of other fixes on them regarding wrapping, pitches, etc. and of course I had to do Pro Keys from scratch since it wasn’t pitch correct as it was, so you could say we did about 50/50. Either way you certainly deserve your database credit and I apologize for the misunderstandings around that.

Farrotone (autoCorrect thinks you should be carrot tone), since you are clearly a huge fan of Alanis, will you be putting out anything off of later albums? Jagged little pill sure is going to look lonely without songs like, oh, I dunno, “eight easy steps,” “Joining You,” “Knees of My Bees,” and “Uninvited.”
I will at least get the one single from Default that I know, though secretly based on the hints thread I was hoping the post grunge Canadian debut album was randomly going to be Artificial Joy Club.
Th game tracks should be a good time as well.
