I really hope you guys will enjoy this whole month, even if our tastes might have been a bit weird the whole way through.

 

I think that Halloween by Helloween is naturally the best possible ‘encore’ you could have for an undertaking like this, huge props to Clint for being awesome the whole way through, and my apologies for not having gotten this song done sooner.

 

For the rest, Last Caress/Green Hell is an encore that I didn’t really know about it, but Lars takes the punk drumming to an insanely fast level in this one, and it never lets up. Guitar and bass are pretty standard on this one, but have enough tiny variations to keep it interesting.

 

Enter the Grave is off of the Hell Demo by Evile, and the later album of the same name that Thrasher came off of. The two versions of Enter the Grave are night and day, in my opinion, the Hell Demo is version is faster, much rawer, great sounds on every instrument, and it doesn’t have the weird vocal effect the album has. This is an insanely tough one for guitarists, and it has a quick drum part with plenty of fills to boot.

 

Dark Night was featured on the soundtrack to From Dusk Till Dawn, one of Nunchuck and I’s favorite movies, for sure. Dark Night is great 80s roots rock, with interesting instrument parts. Bass isn’t anything special, and it’s the same main rhythm throughout, so drums and guitar are definitely the highlight instruments.

 

Flash of the Blade has some of the most interesting instruments by far that Shocktober has to offer. The main guitar riff is awesome, and even though there isn’t a real solo-type solo to speak of, the main riffs you play are all super fun. Bass and drums are hardly slouches, either, and feature insanely varied parts.

 

Scream Until You Like It is great glam metal from a great glam metal band. The drum solo in the middle of the song is absolutely the highlight, and the rest of the instruments are fairly standard outside of that.

 

Bad Things is most well-known as the theme song for True Blood, which I myself haven’t seen, but the song itself is great. You have a typical swing rhythm on drums with some cool fills thrown in. The guitar is interesting as well, and has two solos, although not crazy difficult. Bass is fairly standard, and isn’t as good as guitar or drums on this one.
