I don’t comment a ton in this (kind of an issue), but hoping to make it a regular thing after every release. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

 

Deadsy might be fairly low-key, and super alternative, but they stand in a weird place for me. I think both Commencement and their later album are both amazing, but they have such a weird sound, and the direction their singles went in was super weird. It’s the most anti-pop thing I’ve ever heard, but props to them for challenging the norm at the time (or pretty much any time).

 

The Dionysus song is really goofy, too. It’s a really drum-heavy song with a super long solo in the middle. Guitar and bass don’t get a lot to work with, and only play in the intro and outro. Damned if it isn’t a blast to play, though, super challenging to boot.

 

Bored was a song that Nunchuck and I really wanted. Usually, our releases are really polarized, 50% what he likes, and 50% what I like, but there’s obviously overlap, and we compromise on the songs we pick each week. Bored was definitely one that fell in between, and was another we both felt strongly about, Nobody Hears was the same way, but we happened to get Bored done as an extra because I loved it and had to do it for the FoF projects I’m a part of.

 

Overall, some obscure and weird stuff, balanced out by the Kiss and GnR, stuff everyone knows, and we honestly didn’t plan Down on the Farm with C3 releasing GnR in the same week.

I had a couple of friends over yesterday who are big-time KISS fans (myself definitely included) so “Heaven’s On Fire” was played a few times and we had a blast with it. I can still hear my drunken backup singers voices ringing in my head…”Feel my heat, taking you higher, burn with me, HEAVEN’S ON FIRE!”…good times, and big thanks to the authors on behalf of the RB3 branch of the KISS Army.

Happy Monday. My Monday seemed really long this week, so here are the hints. Best of luck to everyone. We hope you have fun with them.

 

Hint for song #1 – Our first track comes from one of the very first supergroups. The song is from their #1 billboard album. It is the most well known track from this album. This song may feel familiar to anyone who has had a really drunken Friday night.

 

Hint for song #2– Our next track was the title track to an album that was also a #1 charting album . This track is from a Rock n Roll Hall of Fame band. This song was actually in an episode of WKRP in Cincinnati. Love me some Dr Johnny Fever.

 

Hint for song #3– In our next track, the artist name drops a bunch of early rock n roll pioneers. The smash album it comes from is also the first to contain the artist’s first name change, he would change it again in a few years.

 

Hint for song #4– Our next song comes from an American crossover thrash band. It is an instrumental track. After this band broke up, the band’s leader went on to front a very popular band and model for a Playgirl centerfold spread.

 

Hint for song #5 -This next song comes from a returning artist from our customs. This track from their fourth album features a Grammy Award-winning producer with a guest performance.

 

Hint for song #6 – Our last track this week comes from an independent Japanese power metal band. You may have heard this song in a Youtube video. Despite being Japanese their lyrics are all in English.
