May 9, 2015 at 4:46 pm #445019Big shout-out to AlexTaylor for the map/Expert Bass, Guitar, and Keys for Fall to Rise, his FoF thread can be located here. That’s a song I’ve wanted to do full band for a while, and I’m glad he did such a great job on it.
It was a ton of fun getting these tracks done, and even if you don’t know some of the songs, I think that they’re all worth considering, and I’m not just saying that because I’m one of the names in the thread title.
That’s it for my bi-annual post in this thread!! Hope you enjoy the songs this week, and anticipate more great tracks every week in the future.

May 11, 2015 at 8:07 pm #445190Hey there Rockers,
Happy Monday to you all. I’m back with hints for our next release. There are some really cool things coming your way. Let’s see if you rockers can figure these out.
Hint for Song #1 – This song got the artist an acting gig in an episode of one of the biggest Television shows of the 80’s. The episode was even named after this song.
Hint for Song #2– This song was originally written by one of music’s biggest stars for Donna Summer. The artist ended up recording it and it became 1 of 7 top ten singles from this iconic American album.
Hint for Song #3– I learned something new when doing this hint. This # 1 hit was originally written as a song about an interracial couple. It was changed a little lyrically and became a smash hit.
Hint for Song #4– This German technical thrash band rips into their arrangement of an orchestral classic for this song.
Hint for Song #5– This thrash band is returning to Sygenysis’ and my customs. They relentlessly bring us this instrumental from their self-titled debut album.
Hint for Song #6 – This band, which has direct connections with 3 of our previously released tight-knit thrash acts, released this track, but not on the album of the same name, on the EP released a year later.
Last week we had 4 correct answers; will we get a full rack of correct answers this week? Find out Saturday!!!
Rock Out… Life is Short
May 11, 2015 at 8:23 pm #445193#1 – In the middle of Miami Vice’s first season, former Eagles guitarist Glenn Frey released “Smuggler’s Blues”, a song about cocaine trafficking. The producers of the show immediately jumped on it, and not only titled the resultant episode “Smuggler’s Blues”, but they based the storyline on the lyrics of the song and cast Glenn Frey as Jimmy the Bush Pilot.

May 13, 2015 at 3:13 am #445310I was wondering if you can share with us the top 10 or 20 most downloaded customs you guys have released. Just curious what people’s tastes are. Fyi I personally download 90% of your releases, they all rock. Thanks.Sure, here’s the top 25 downloaded customs. I don’t know how much some of these had before we remade them, so I’ll put a * to denote that. Not listing the numbers, because I don’t know if that’s classified information that Nunchuck doesn’t want me revealing or anything. Also, only counting the 1x pedal versions, and songs with the same number place had the same amount.
In order from the most downloads, as of 5/12:
1. Natalie Imbruglia – Torn
2. Fergie – Big Girls Don’t Cry
3. System of a Down – Radio/Video
4. Audioslave – Doesn’t Remind Me
5. Alice Cooper – Only Women Bleed
5. David Bowie – I’m Afraid of Americans (V1)
7. Cake – War Pigs*
8. Primus – Tommy the Cat
9. Dr. Hook – The Cover of Rolling Stone
10. Gordon Lightfoot – Carefree Highway
11. Cracker – Low*
12. Porno for Pyros – Pets
13. Deadeye Dick – New Age Girl
13. Aerosmith – Mama Kin
15. Avenged Sevenfold – Streets
15. The Refreshments – Banditos (before it was picked up)
17. Tom Petty – You Don’t Know How It Feels
18. Living Colour – Which Way to America?
19. Foghat – Fool for the City
20. Kim Mitchell – Go For Soda
21. Finger Eleven – Good Times
21. Metallica – No Remorse

May 13, 2015 at 8:13 pm #445360I’m guessing Brown eyed Girl for #3IMO, frigginelvis got it…it’s got to be Jack and Diane…Song was originally written about an interracial couple, but Mellencamp was forced to change the lyrics to him being a football star, instead of an African American.
