Hey there Rockers,
Happy New Year, Peeps! It is Monday and that means it is time for another installment of clues to our next release. Last year, we had a banner year for hints. Thank you very much to everyone who played along. Well, let’s crank this sucker up and see what this year’s first release will bring. Here we go!!!!

 

Hint for Song #1
To start this year off right, we have an artist returning to the Funhouse with one of his biggest hits. The song was featured in a wildly popular coming-of-age film of the early 80’s. The song reached #7 on the Billboard Hot 100. Great song, great film and now a great custom.

 

Hint for Song #2
Our next song of the week, is by a very well-respected rap group. Although you may have never heard the song before because of Michael Jackson. This song was intended for release on this group’s debut studio album, but it was removed due to Michael Jackson not approving of samples of music he owned, but not music he wrote or recorded.

 

Hint for Song #3
For my last pick this week, I am picking a song that I love, but most have not heard it. It was the first single from this band’s second studio album. The band’s sound is a mix of southern rock, LA sleaze rock and a touch of AC/DC. The song itself has a Rose Tattoo type feel. This ode to waiting is a great song. I hope many of you check it out!

 

Hint for Song #4
In the clean-up spot this week, we have a well-liked band returning to the Funhouse. This modern punk rock band returns with the 4th and final single from the band’s fifth studio album. The title of the song refers to TV talk show psycho-babble. The video for the song featured a “New Girl”.

 

Hint for Song #5
Next up, we have a Christian alternative group that has been in official RB DLC and had a RBN track. This week’s song is the first single from the group’s debut album. The band has a sort of rap metal sound. Despite being a Christian group most songs have no tie to religion at all.

 

Hint for Song #6
Our final track this week, is a platinum selling rap song. The song is all about the artist’s love of Cocaine. It scored a top 20 spot in the Billboard Hot 100. It had a big budget video directed by Busta Rhymes. At the Funhouse, we don’t endorse cocaine use or try to promote it. The song is just a catchy song. Please don’t mistake art for real life!!!

 

We had 3 “Big Brains” last week and they got all but one of the songs. That song was super-rare so it is totally understandable. Great work everybody!!

Release Notes

We started the year with a batch of super cool and fun songs. Every song is catchy as can be. Enjoy the songs!

 

Somebody’s Baby is from Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Great song, great flick and my birthday sister Jennifer Jason Leigh!!

 

I’m Down was intended for Licensed to Ill, but the Beatles sample wasn’t cleared. Michael Jackson, who owned the rights to the Beatles music, didn’t like the content and wouldn’t allow them to release it. If you have never heard it you are in for a treat!!

 

Junkyard is a great band and this song is very catchy, if you haven’t heard it give it a listen, it is awesome!!

 

She’s got Issues is another sweet Offspring song. Play it love… enough said.

 

Kountry Gentleman is a catchy rap metal track. It is fun to play and good for parties!!

 

CoCo is a super catchy track… We do not endorse or want to promote cocaine use. Don’t confuse art for real life, please!
