Hey all. I have nothing for this week.

#4 Run DMC/Aeromith? Jay Z/Linkin Park? Public Enemy/Anthrax? RATM/? I’m hoping someone will put 2+2 together, but I really am useless this week, and relying on the rest of you!

The Herbie Hancock song features Mix Master Mike who got famous with the Beastie Boys. Then my guess gets a little thin as the Beastie Boys third album doesn’t have a title track. So it’s my guess but it’s probably wrong.

I wish that I could say that my picks (#4-6) this week made any sense, but it knocks out some obscure songs that I’ve wanted since forever. May as well post some extra hints to help.

For #4, this one is super obscure, and probably the weirdest collaboration I’ve ever heard, but Wikipedia acknowledges that it exists. I don’t want to say too much, since I think you guys are mostly on the right track, I’ll just say that the song is essentially a loose and unrelated prototype for a song that we’ve already done.

For #5, we’ve charted several songs off of one of the games’ soundtracks, and this next one would be the 4th (5th if you count charts I’ve done on my own).

Thanks for the extra clues. I wish I could say they helped…. :bang:

Lol…I’m in the same boat, actually no, I may have to start again from scratch!

At this point your guess is by far the best one to go with…thin beats nothing at all……

Everything I’m coming up with right now is like a “wish sandwich”…..two slices of bread, but I wish it had some meat! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

This reminds me that we might need Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit”. Map scratches to guitar?

Oh my god, #6 is Lapti Nek by the Max Rebo Band. Jizz music!

Amazingly well done clue and guess.

Yeah, I think doin’ them scratches on guitar would make this fool (me) grin from ear to ear! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

And charting the Max Rebo Band?!?….Absolute brilliance!….I loved that tune when I first heard it in ROTJ way back when.

              Hey there Rockers,

The weekend has finally returned to the Funhouse. We have a great week for you this week. There are a bunch of female vocals this week. There is some great 90s stuff. We even threw in a bit of old school rap. Well, let’s get right to the goods.

              Release Notes

This week, my picks were songs I have wanted forever, they were all part of different proposed weeks. I strung them all together and it made for an awesome little group of songs. While they are all quite different in sound, there is a good chance that if you like one of them, you will most likely enjoy them all.

Ke$ha – Dirty Love features Iggy Pop. It is an energetic, kinda racy ode to love (of the short term variety). Like most good Ke$ha songs, Dirty Love is a little filthy and a little sweet. When released as a single, they cut out Iggy. Iggy presence adds a creepy sort of fun to the track. Here is your chance for another duet… well sort of.

Doll Parts is a great song. There aren’t many better female-sung grunge songs out there. I’m kind of surprised this wasn’t ever official DLC. Maybe it will be soon, but it was too good to keep waiting on. This is Hole at their best.

Butterfly has been on like 5 of my potential pick lists. I saw a request post and decided right then that now was the best time for it. So here is Crazy Town – Butterfly, moved up to today because I saw some of our favorite peeps giving it the +1. We love our peeps! You are loyal like Cubs fans! Thank you for downloading the songs and checking out our thread. We put the time in to make it be the best we can for you Peeps!!!

As for the other 3 songs, I know dangerously little about them. In fact, I had not heard them until recently. So I will let Sy fill you in, as he has the scoop on them. I can say they were all cool. A very different sort of fare for us here at the Funhouse. That is one of the best things about the way the Funhouse runs. Plenty of well-known songs mixed with lesser-known stuff that we love and will truly please a fan that never thought they would be able to enjoy that band on RB.

We had 3 “Big Brains” this week. The clues were tougher and the some of the songs were lesser-known. Next week, will be the same but completely different.

              rawsewage (1) Shocktober Hint Master

              Housequake (1) Shocktober Hint Master

              dlauthor (2)

Great work on some tough stuff. We thank you for playing. There will be more fun and games coming soon.

Have a great weekend everybody!!! See ya soon!!!

Remember to Rock Out… Life is Short

Awesome week for some great Vocals.

              Can’t wait to try Doll Parts ! <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_biggrin.gif” />

Thanks for sharing your great work with us guys !

              #477628

My picks were a little, eh… Avant-garde, sure, this week. I picked the UTFO song because I couldn’t believe there was another Anthrax rap collaboration that I didn’t know about. Honestly, it’s one of the most bizarre songs I’ve ever heard, but it has a special place in my heart, still. The only members appearing on it are just Joey and Dan, with Joey rapping, and Dan playing a guitar solo, and some other stuff here and there. The solo is surprisingly challenging, but the rest of the guitar part you’re lucky to get anything else to play.

I tried to tie in the UTFO pick with a song by Roxanne Shante, because UTFO started the surprisingly well-documented Roxanne Wars, with the B-side to their first single, Roxanne, Roxanne, and certain other circumstances setting the whole thing off. What’s Going On is unrelated to the Roxanne Wars, but I love the song, and wanted to find a way to tie things together. My thought process this week didn’t make any sense, so the songs I picked are a little on the lesser-known side. However, the song is a fast, big beat-ish song by Mekon, known as John Gosling, and member of Psychic TV. It’s from the soundtrack of ATV Offroad Fury 2, from which we’ve charted several songs, so this will be another to add to that list. Drums are pretty challenging, as breakbeats tend to be, but it’s not difficult to the point of being unplayable. Guitar and bass have good, challenging, parts, as well, and it’s the hardest song by far, which feels weird, but it is.

Lapti Nek is a song that I’ve wanted for a really long time. The version that we did is one of the various club remixes of the song, and in my opinion the most fun to play out of the ones I’ve heard. It’s honestly just solid, upbeat, funky song, that I’m flabbergasted it’s replaced by Jedi Rocks on every special edition. I think that Lapti Nek is the more fun song, and obviously more challenging. Get your Huttese chops going and play some jizz!

So there you have it, Roxanne Wars, and Star Wars. Make any sense? What, none? Well, anyway, I hope you can at least enjoy the songs for what they are, I had a lot of fun doing them, either way!

You guys never fail to deliver – thanks for all the time you dedicate to us undeserving peeps. <img decoding=” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_smile.gif” />

              Hello

I have a marvelous song that I think could make a great rock band song and if someone want to make it it would be super cool. I will probably do it myself at sometime if someone won’t make it, but because im new to this custom song thingy on rockband it will take some time i guess. Link for the song follows.

Very cool songs this week guys! Thanks so much for all of them! I’m kinda bummed the answer I gave for #3 was wrong (trying to keep score pace with Housequake, she’s blowin’ me away! lol) but at the same time, I KNOW she’ll be ecstatic to see it was “Butterfly”! So it’s all good with me…..missus is happy, I’m happy!

BTW, rawsewage….good call, I thought I aced you out on #3…couldn’t find confirmation that one guy was on tv to kick drugs then another member died…..I knew that Alice in Chains had one guy (Starr) in Celebrity Rehab and that Staylee died later.

You guys are really great to bump that up for all your fans! The treat for me was Max Rebo….who the !#@% would’a ever thunk?!?……Luvin’ all the cool and the kooky! That’s why we think you guys ROCK!

              #477647

Crazy Town – Butterfly?! Heck, yea!

Thank you, thank you!!! I am stoked for this song!!!
