Release Notes

This week is chuck full of awesome. The Funhouse is thrilled about another quite varied week.

First off the release contains… 3 different shades of soul: Funk, Bluesy Soul, and smooth R&B , a Classic Rock hit, a Nu-Metal classic, a Prog Rock supergroup and a catchy fun sports song. That does qualify as jukebox-from-Hell!! Proper!!!

 

To start it all off, Mary Jane is a funky soul classic that has often appeared in pop culture. Download it…Because he’s Rick James, Bitch!!

 

Ok, if you have never heard Strokin’, take a few minutes and look it up… I’ll wait.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, that you know what an awesome song it is, let’s see if you can get the FC while laughing at the last verse. It is a slightly dirty good time. This will light up a RB party!!!

 

Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together is one great song. It may provide a “Oh, that song” moment. While not a difficult song to play it is super fun.

 

John Mellencamp returns to the Funhouse with his first big hit. It is the full long version and is so good. Enjoy!

 

When World’s Collide is a classic nu-metal song. Powerman 5000 has many good tracks, but this was their biggest.

 

Asia is a prog rock super group consisting of members of Yes, King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer. Who Will Stop the Rain is a dreamy track that is fun to play and really sticks in your head

 

Ok, the bonus song this week is something I wanted to do so badly. I’m a Cubs fan and always will be. Cubs fans are true and loyal through all the bad times. I want to show my support. This song is a testament to the Cubs fans. At their home stadium, the majestic Wrigley Field, win or lose thousands of fans stay to the end of the game and sing Go Cubs Go together. It is an amazing thing to see. So this week, we are proud to show Cubs pride and rock this one out. Go Cubs Go!!!!

 

We had another great week with the hints. “The Big Brains” dominated my trivia clues. We had another full rack of correct answers.

I been Jones’n for more Rick James ever since I saw you guys put up ‘Super Freak’ way back when, I held on to hope that one day there would be a return of the “Original Slick Rick” on RB3, so a special shout goes out for that one.

I had totally forgotten about “Strokin'”…I’ve really only heard it a couple of times but when the answers came in, I youtubed it and BOOM!

you guys DID IT AGAIN!…..Where are you guys digging up these gems from!?! The hit wasn’t a monster… but man, what a FUN song! Great choice from the novelty aspect.

My deepest appreciation goes into bringing Al Green into the RB spotlight. If you’re gonna do smooth “ol’skool” Soul (and in my book ‘ol’skool’ qualifies from the Motown and Stax era into New Jack Swing, anything after is Hip Hop/Rap and Neo Soul), THIS is how it’s done RIGHT!

 

I’m also glad to see that my J.C.Mellencamp choices are starting to fatten up. I don’t get enough of the man from Indiana.

 

Thank you soooo much for adding this much diversity and variety to the game! Damn!…y’all work me up so much, I just don’t know when to shut the %$@& up!
