When I was Young is an awesome cover of an Eric Burdon and The Animals hit. It is one of my favorite covers ever! It is very true to the original except it has guitar, where the original had violin. The Ramones did many cool covers for the Acid Eaters album — I wanted this one most.

Erotic City is one of the most infamous b-sides ever. It was featured as the b-side to Let’s Go Crazy. It has many F-bombs (like more than a dozen). It is a dance club favorite from its time. The song also features Sheila E on backing vocals. We are always thrilled to bring more of the genius of Prince to the game.

A Certain Girl is a catchy, fun song by Warren Zevon. If you know me, you know of my love of Warren Zevon! This song is a riot to play and features super-fun harmonies. This is definitely a must-play kind of song.

Der Kommissar, the original German version, is Falco at his best. I can’t say enough good things about it. I’m American, so I always heard the After the Fire version. The original just seems so natural, so I’m glad that is the version we did.

Day after Day is a soft rock radio mainstay. It is a George Harrison-produced classic by Badfinger. When you hear it, you will be like “Oh, That song!!” and then drift into its goodness.

Kyuss is a band that I have been into for many years. I used to listen to Wretch a lot. This is the awesome opening track from that album. If you like stoner metal, this is a bad-ass track.

Thank you for this weeks batch! Me and Housequake are firing up “Erotic City” right away. And yes guys, you did it again…..

I do remember “Day after Day”, (one of my Mom’s favorites, rest her soul) and we played that on the old ’45 waayy back in the day, I’m really glad y’all put that out.

 

But that wasn’t my “oh THAT song” moment….I’ve never heard The Ramones cover of “When I was Young” and the title itself didn’t really fire off any neurons in this old brain until you mentioned Eric Burdon and “The Animals” (cue that crazy Eastern Indian sounding lick). I haven’t heard that song in DECADES!!!!

 

Now I can’t wait to try this one on for size as well!
