Wow. Great choice with that Manilla Road song. Never thought I’d see one of my favorite MR songs charted, especially from that album. Thanks for sharing.
March 30, 2016 at 1:19 pm #466191#1 – We will be expanding our coverage of music. We hope to chart some genres we haven’t explored too much. Dance, reggae, rap, punk, funk, pop and some other interesting things will start to hit our releases.
This is excellent. Don’t forget about pre-60’s rock! A ripe area for customs.
Very excited to see C+C Music Factory coming up…no idea how this will play in-game, but I can definitely see this getting played after a few adult beverages. More variety in music = more awesome.
March 31, 2016 at 9:40 pm #466269#3 Lynyrd Skynyrd – Sweet Home Alabama (probably wrong, but it fits the bonus hint and the first two. Can’t figure out where the Basking Lizard fits.)
April 1, 2016 at 2:13 pm #466299Are You Ready for a Rockfight???
When does this rumble start?
April 1, 2016 at 2:38 pm #466300The inaugural RockFight will be in April and soon. In fact, today there will be a RockFight info post. We are still fine tuning the final details, but this weekend should be interesting.
Rock On!!!!!
April 1, 2016 at 3:07 pm #466303Two band enter, one band leave.
April 1, 2016 at 6:27 pm #466312Sam, now we better get a battle between two Tina Turner songs.
April 2, 2016 at 12:03 am #466324RockFight Intro
RockFights are the next step in the Funhouse’s evolution. For over a year, we have done things with the same formula. Now we approach our second year with a mission to bring you something new and interactive. We tested voting with the Hints Hall of Fame 3 pack ballots. It went great, the response was way better than expected. It turns out people like the chance to choose. So we will ramp that action up and bring you something fun, entertaining and interactive.
There are a few things we would like to tell you about RockFights from the start.
- RockFights will be held once a month.
- RockFights can be Band vs Band, song vs song, genre vs genre, era vs era and many other possibilities.
- RockFights will be done with a poll, rather than ballots.
- RockFights will be open to everyone for voting.
- RockFights Voting time will last for 2 weeks.
- RockFights need you! Without your vote, this is nothing.
- Informed voters are the best voters, so a you-tube link or song preview will be provided for songs. Bands will feature BandFacts in a special post called “Tale of the Tape”. Fight fans will recognize the term.
- There will be a fight poster in announcement for for each RockFight event.
- RockFight Events will consist of a “Main Event” and “Undercard Fights” just like MMA, Boxing and Pro Wrestling (WWE).
- Each RockFight event will be promoted with emphasis on fun and entertainment (It may sound a bit like Pro Wrestling at times)
- Some losing songs may get put into new fights at some point. Band re-matches will happen, if a rivalry is struck up.
- Vocal fans rock. Feel free to post and try to rally votes for your favorites.
- If you are a Wrestling fan cut a promo for your favorites.
- RockFights are for the fans. Get involved!
- RockFights only have one rule… Rock or Be Rocked
See ya tomorrow for our release… Rock on !!!!!

April 2, 2016 at 2:02 pm #466350Hey there Rockers,
It is finally the weekend. There are many reasons this is a super-cool release. Firstly, it is the first week (hopefully of many) with a special guests charter — Colonel 32dll. The Colonel rocks!!! He is going to be helping out with some pitched vocals,
Pardon me while I take a moment to thank all of the guest charters that have been part of the Funhouse. Each of you is a welcome part of our Funhouse family. You take the time to give the gift of your talents to all of us, Sy & I included! You are fully appreciated and we are always thrilled to get special guests Thank you all for your hard work and your contributions!
Now back to our regularly scheduled post. Also, this release features a couple of zany April-Fool’s-Day-type songs. We didn’t want to prank you, rather we wanted you to get the laughs while you play. We hope they crack you up!
Also, it is a big weekend for fights. There is this little event called Wrestlemania Sunday. Plus, beginning on Sunday as well…
Okay, on to the tunes…

Release Notes
This week’s release includes a song from each of the artists that did not make the grade in the HHoF peeps voting.
John Mellencamp and Snot. Both great acts, but not everyone could make the cut.
John Mellencamp was a bit of a surprise, but it had the second most last place votes. Snot was probably the least known of the acts.
This week, you get 1 song from each.
My picks were John Mellencamp, Ben Folds, Slade and Dirty Deeds Done with Sheep
John Mellencamp rocks the first pick with a song about the plight of the American Farmer. Great heartfelt song, with pitched vocals thanks to the Colonel.
Rockin’ the Suburbs is a sweet song I have been wanting for quite a while, and yes, now we can all scream Fuck into the microphone.
Slade is a band I have wanted since we started this. I hope to drop at least one more Slade track someday. This was their biggest US hit. It may provide an “Oh, that song!” moment.
My April Fools pick was Bob Rivers. It is a fun dirty parody of the AC/DC classic.

April 2, 2016 at 3:10 pm #466361I have been waiting to say this…
Well then it’s most certainly Slade since they don’t spell any of their songs correctly.
Still not sure about the basking lizard, but as far as I know their best-selling US single is “Run Runaway”
See chameleon
(Lying there in the sun)
All things to everyone
Run run awayThank you for all the kindness everyone.
I also said I would tell the Slayer story. Here goes a short version to save you from reading a novel…
In 1995 I was an assistant manager at a record store and was lucky enough to be invited by a record rep. to go see a Slayer/ Biohazard/ Machine Head show and get to go backstage and meet the bands. While the meet and greet was in progress someone from the Machine road-crew fell down the stairs right outside the door to the “green room”. So, that doorway was blocked off so an ambulance could gurney the guy out to get in ambulance. We were all in this room for like a 1/2 an hour to an hour.
I have autographs and got to hold conversation with Tom Araya and Kerry King. It was a crazy night. There was a girl that went back to the dressing room with them. She said the evil band Slayer was playing video games and drinking beer. That is the short version. For a longer version you will have to wait for my autobiography. HAHAHA!!
Have a great weekend!

Ohhhh…
Also I can somehow see Slayer playing video games. That sounds like an amusing night, though I must say I can kinda jealous.
