Hi all! After some weeks of “contributing authors” we are rolling out our new system that will allow you to be completely independent in setting up your files and your schedule. The download page will also show your name and not the generic “contributing author” name that used to show (it’s actually already working like that for files you have already released).
Before going over the specifics, some important information:
– In order for any song to be released, it needs to properly go through the uploader and the scheduler. The system is very lean and it won’t take more than a minute per song to put it through the scheduler after the upload. However, if a song is not in the schedule and not uploaded, it won’t be released. We’re stressing this: have your songs uploaded by 5 PM EST on the Monday before your release and put them through the scheduler with all elements (image, link to the file, etc.).
– We are providing you the tools to have maximum control on your releases and maximum visibility, but always please remember that we release as a collective, so no “middle man” anymore to take your files, schedule them, etc. means that you have a bit more responsibility in making sure everything run smoothly for everyone’s sake.
– We’re shooting for 3 new songs per week, possibly 3 “solid” new songs (meaning that any “one minute, one instrument” or very obscure song ideally would be in addition to the 3, same goes for FtV releases), and that is not easy. For that reason, while you can release your songs in any Friday you like (barring any pre-emption due to special events), please always look at the scheduler for weeks when we have less than 3 songs scheduled for release to fill the void. Internally we can fill at least 2 weeks in every month, usually we fill 3, so it would be great if you could release according to which week needs content the most.
– The scheduler doesn’t show artists and titles for songs that produced internally, because we really love that surprise Friday mystique. However, you will see volume, so that you can see which weeks are already filled and which are not.
INSTRUCTIONS
Control panel
Open the control panel (http://www.keepitfishy.com/c_uploader.php) and login. Ask for your credentials via PM to me sending also the password you want to use.
Uploader
Inside the control panel, select a file to upload. For 99% of the files, that’s it, just click on Send file. If you’re authoring an album, you might want to create a folder for your files, so that you can then also share the folder. In that case, type the name of the folder or select it from the drop down menu if you have already created a folder. NEVER create a folder to share all your files, for the reasons stated in the upload panel (this is very important, please read those instructions). Use the folder feature absolutely only for albums and big packs.
Warning: if for any reason you get 500 errors or server errors of any kind that prevent you from uploading, message me so we can reconfigure your access. Please do so only if you receive those errors though, because the process is not quick and we have the resources to do it only for the people needing it.
Scheduler
1) Open the scheduler (http://www.keepitfishy.com/schedule.php): login is the same. Or, just click on Schedule in the control panel.
2) You can add your song to the schedule as soon as you’re sure you will deliver, you don’t have to have the CON uploaded, the image file or anything else. Insert artist, title, pack (if you’re doing one), release day and all other information (pro keys, multitracks, etc.).
3) If the image created in Visualizer is ready, insert the URL in the Image field. If you have already uploaded the CON file, select it from the drop down menu. If you haven’t, you can edit the record later to add image and file information.
4) Click on Submit and you’re done.
5) While we have provided a Delete button for songs, please try not to remove songs from the schedule because we count on the songs already scheduled to be available. The rule is always: schedule only songs you know you will deliver for that date and schedule them as soon as you know you will deliver. Remember: you don’t need a CON file or the song’s image to create a record.
For any information, to report any bug or anything else don’t hesitate to reply to this thread so we can perfect the system.
Schedule away!

June 19, 2013 at 6:08 pm #401700I’m guessing this also goes for my Phase Shift converts?
June 19, 2013 at 6:10 pm #401701I’m guessing this also goes for my Phase Shift converts? No, this is for authors who release their customs. We’re still thinking about how to streamline that process, hold on a bit longer. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>

Oh, ok. I guess I’ll also get a login link in my PMs, since I have customs planned in the future?
June 19, 2013 at 6:16 pm #401705This is great guys, will make things a lot easier for future planning!
I’ve just spotted a bug – if your ‘notes’ text is on more than one line (i.e. you pressed Return while writing it) then it won’t show up when you click the TXT icon.
Also, it would be good if there was a way to reveal a week’s releases once that week has passed. No point keeping June 14th’s releases hidden when we all know what they are.

It should be fixed now.

Since actually only the current/last week is shown (anything older than the current week is not shown not to clutter the screen), I don’t think we really need it. I thought about that but it’s not worth the code needed frankly.
June 19, 2013 at 6:25 pm #401708Mine still isn’t showing up (it’s the notes for Won’t Stop Just Go …for Green Forest). Is there a character limit maybe?
Also, how do we insert file download links for an already-submitted song? I’m trying to add links to my June 21st releases and all I get in the ‘File’ drop-down menu is the word ‘File’.
June 19, 2013 at 6:29 pm #401709did you upload the file using the uploader? you can’t type in a link, you have to choose a file you’ve uploaded to your folder on our server, which you do using the uploader. as far as I understand the process. I don’t use this

If you have no file to choose from, it means you haven’t uploaded any file. ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_wink.gif”>
June 19, 2013 at 10:22 pm #401738Good Work. It would be great to have a link to the Uploader/Scheduler either as another menu item or in the User Control Panel. This seems pretty obvious so I imagine you have this planned already.

June 20, 2013 at 11:53 pm #401810Well, I started to use it, that’s great tools !
Seems like the overwriting fonction of the uploader doesn’t work though (for me, at least), I re-uploaded a file with the same name and now have 2 Rebellion(Lies)_rb3con files on my control panel.
