I hope someone can help me.

 

Ive been playing customs for a while, but there where a few songs that did not load.

These were original songs, sometimes dlc.

 

Yesterday I found out that when i downloaded the tile 5 update, these songs would play just fine.

So I thought, let me make that a 5 star gold so I dont have to play them anymore.

So I did and the game was saved.

 

Today i wanted to play customs and they dont work when I have tile 5, so i deleted the update.

But the save game would not load!

A disaster for me and also my avatar would be lost.

 

On the screen appears first like alway that there are multiple saves on multiple places (hdd, 2 usb sticks), so I selected the hdd one and the following message appeared

 

“Loading save game failed for gamer VOC Sonder NL because the save file was created with a newer version of the game”

 

I guess thats because he made a save with the tile 5 update and now its starting with the 4.

Again, I cannot play any custom with tile 5, cuz I get the message “disc unreadable” and then the game closes.

 

I tried to start the game again after the tile 5 update and everything is there…but i cannot play the customs.

Im at work but maybe I understand the problem and hopefully I got the solution.

 

I use 3 storages

HDD xbox

2 usb sticks.

 

On every one I have a save game (just in case) and when I start the game I have to choose 1, cuz I get a message that there are multiple saves.

 

Never a problem, but now I made a save while running TU5.

So when I start the game and want to load the latest save it says it found another newer save.

 

I will remove the other 2 saves and hopefully this will do the trick.

 

It happened before that I lost a lot of saves, and I had to do many songs again.

I’m not 100% sure of the issue but will give you some thoughts that may help.

 

First, use 2 USB’s…one for title update 5, one for customs.

 

If a song won’t load on customs and it was DLC you probably have to transfer song rights to your system and Re-download.

 

If you made a save for for Tu5 it will only work with tu5. Any particular info saved there cannot go back wards again.

 

So, if you have a save on customs for years per se, update to tu5 even by accident, you won’t be able to use any of that save info again for customs because it’s now associated with tu5.

 

That’s the reason for 2 usb and load that save file each time and not leaving it to chances.

Try opening your save in Con Tool’s con explorer, extracting the save.dat within, hex edit the first byte from 0x98 to 0x97, then replace it back in and press save.

 

Doing that seems to let me use my tu5 save even with no title updates applied at all (EA Disc).

 

Don’t know if you’ll run into problems down the line, though. Haven’t really tested further than just booting the game.

Pappy64, I think you are right with the save while running TU5.

It seems the save doesnt work after that with TU5 removed.

 

I tried to download the songs again, but could not find Under the bridge in any list.

There are about 5-10 songs I cannot play, but thats not a big problem.

 

After I discovered I could play these songs with TU5 I played a couple on gold and these were saved and that was the problem.

 

There is 1 good thing:

I started all over again and now I have a clean list with every song I played on gold.

In 2 days 40 gold, but I was already on 300 pfff.

And it happened again.

 

Yesterday I tried to download Dreams by Fleetwood Mac again (could not find it by the way, original dlc), and to get to the RB store I had to download the TU5 update.

When I got online the game gave me 2 achievements and saved it and I thought…oh shit.

 

Didnt find the song, disconnected from internet, removed TU5 and started the xbox.

What I was affraid off happened….Rockband could not load the save game with all my scores because there was a newer save (with TU5 running I think that is the problem) and everything is gone again.

More than 500 on gold

 

Any help antbody?

Stop connecting to the internet with your game save in? I don’t understand how you let this happen more than once.

I’m not aware of any fix to the problem, as the save game is now modified.

I did not plan to play or change anything while being online, but immediately it gave somekind of an achievement and saved it ” src=”/wp-content/uploads/invision_emoticons/default_SA_frown.gif” />

The tutorials we have suggest having two usb drives, one with all the TU4 stuff, and one with the TU5 stuff. That way you CAN get online if need be, and you’re not messing up your TU4 save.

I still dont understand one thing.

 

I can play almost every official dlc song that I bought, while playing offline withouth tu5 running and also all of the customs,

Except a handfull of songs like

Fleetwood Mac “dreams” and Yes “owner of a lonely heart”

 

Why is that?

I downloaded the song again in the store, but when Im offline, it says “unable to load the song.

This is the only reason I sometimes go online, to try to fix this

Yesterday I did the relicensening and today the redownload frm history.

Hopefully that will do the trick
